childrens hangers

okies... are childrens hangers okay for baby clothes or do I really need baby hangers?

I hate buying things I won't use long...  and I love wood hangers so I wanna get nice ones... I don't want to be buying more in 2 years though...

Re: childrens hangers

  • The thing about the children's hangers is that you may have a hard time getting them to fit baby clothes.  It may stretch the fabric of the clothes out.  My stepdaughter had some of her clothes on baby hangers until she was 7 so it really isn't that big of a deal.

  • I still use the little pink hangers that I got for DD when she was born and she is now 4.
  • I'm not sure what the difference is between baby hangers and children's hangers... but I bought a million packs of little hangers for DS.  And I used ALL of them, lol.  A lot of clothes come with hangers, but they're not as good as the plastic ones that you can buy yourself.

  • I got a set of 10 pink kids' hangers at Target for 97 cents!!!  I don't mind having to replace a 10 cent hanger in 2 years. Smile

  • Our Dollar Store has them too...I think there are 10 in a pack

  • I purchased kids hangers from walmart.  They are a little big for some of the stuff but I just go in through the bottom not through the neck to minimize stretching.  I purchased the regular style and the one with clips so I can hang pants.  But honestly I don't know how much I will be hanging after LO arrives (this was more for organization)...I just feel like putting most of it in drawers will be simpler.

  • yeah I suspected kids hangers would be especially too big for newborn clothes.

I'm OCD and can't handle mis-matched hangers. (I've been like this since I was a kid!) I need them to be all the same... maybe I'll use baby hangers for toddlers instead of rushing for bigger ones?

  • You can buy the wooden childrens hangers and try them out on the smaller clothes. It really depends what kind of clothes and how many you want to hang.

Pretty much this.  My 8 SS's clothes are still on baby hangers (minus the pants).

  • Baby hangers are pretty cheap-about 10 for a dollar or two. Just buy a few packs and when you need to, buy children's hangers.
  • I just bought the 10 pack at Target for 97 cents in the baby aisle and they fit my stepdaughter's (7 years old) clothes as well as the baby clothes.  If you actually go into the hanger section they are more expensive for the smaller size - go figure!

  • I accidently hit enter on my "so" post which made me sound completely insensitive...which I am not.. what I was going to say before my pinkie finger went against me.

So did you ask him why his mother went through with her pregnancy?

    What a complete #$%^.
