Okay, this might be incredibly stupid, but I know that you're not supposed to put pianos on outside walls in your house so that it doesn't get affected by the temp change.
It doesn't matter for a crib, right? For some reason this is stuck in my head, and I know it's ridiculous.

Re: Crib on outside wall?
The piano thing is about the humidity affecting it. It can cause the piano to need a tune pretty quick.
Doesn't have anything to do with cribs. You're safe.
I think its ok, as long as its not next to a window. They say not to put cribs next to windows due to direct sunlight and possiblity of draft.
I purposely avoided putting our crib on an outside wall but our house is really drafty without much insulaton.
