As some who responded to me before may know, I was bathing my 5 month olds in a bath seat in my kitchen sink (sponge bathing, not filling up sink) b/c it was just so easy to do. But I felt like I should start 'real' baths & a lot of ppl recommended the eurobath so I got one.
Finally used it this weekend & having the dumbest problem, I'm sure there is an easy solution- how do you get the baby out & wrap towel around without soaking the towel or the front of you? I guess I could let all the water drain out and then wrap LO in the towel & lift out (in teh sink, since there wasn't water in there, I could just do that) but that takes forever & they're sitting there getting cold...my bathroom is narrow, so I'm kneeling at the tub with the toilet directly to my left & a wall pretty close to my right, so no space on my sides. I thought about putting an adult bath towel folded behind me for some cushion, lay the baby's towel on it & lift him/her out, turn around & lay him/her on the towel and wrap up but that seems awkward too.
Why am I so unadept at these things?
Re: seriously dumb question about giving baths (i'm using eurobath but other tubs apply I'm sure)
No kidding!!!! In hte sink I just used the faucet extender, it was great. LOL. I figure when older kids take baths, they don't rinse off, they just stand up & dry off right? So I have one of those pitcher things from BRU with the soft side so oyu can rinse off their heads without getting water in their face & I fill it up from the tub faucet & rinse off their heads & then another time to pour over their body but of course the part that is in the tub doesn't get rinsed. Which is great when like last night, DD peed while in the tub. ick. lol.
Oh & I also have another question specific to eurobath- their butt is pressed up against the middle piece so how do you wash the butt without having to lift baby out or risk baby falling to one side & dunking his/her face in the water while you try to lift up the legs to get the butt?
Never realized baths would be quite so complicated.
I have NO idea how to get them out without getting completly wet. I didn't even think of this until this week since it was my first time bathing the boys alone. I always had my MIL to lift the baby out while I wrapped him in a towel.
As for rincing though, I use that pitcher from BRU. I lift the baby to sitting or standing the pour the water over them. It gets in their face a bit, but not too much if you are careful.
