Babies: 3 - 6 Months

Terror child

Are any of you worried about how LO will be when he/she is a toddler? This weekend I baby-sat my friend's 18 month-old for one hour and it was pure HELL. This child is a complete terror - he bashed a toy into DD's head (thank God she didn't bruise), and every toy was something to be destroyed, not played with. I spent the entire hour chasing after him and telling him "no" as he tried to climb on things and destroy things in my house. I guess you just baby proof like crazy and learn to relax...

Re: Terror child

  • I don't think every toddler is that way. IMO, that's the parent's fault for not teaching him how to behave or take care of his toys.

  • My 2 year old almost 3 year old can sometimes be like this! It's kind of a testing age. You just have to show them who is the boss.  I will tell you that some day you will be the other person with kid acting out! It happens to us all!
  • I've babysat tons of kids and I think it is just how they are raised.  If they are able to get away with it they do.  I understand some of it is their personality also, but parenting has to come into effect.  My children had better not act like that!  I'm sure yours won't either.  My mom always said that you raise your child to not do things that bother you.  What bothers one parent my bother the heck out of another.
