What kind of apples do you use for applesauce? I used Galas last time and DD seems to think they are sour. She makes a really cute, funny face but refuses to eat them. I tried a bite myself and they were a bit sour.
There are times we are out to eat and I would like to feed DD while we are waiting for our food. With babyfood from the store I could just throw it in the bag without having to refrigerate it. How do you do this with your homemade food? Do you put it in a cooler type bag? I would like to keep her schedule consistent and if we happen to be out during lunch or supper I would like to be able to feed her.
Thanks for your help!
Re: Questions for mom who make their own babyfood
Applesauce: I made it once, but found it to be a pain, so I just started buying unsweetened apple sauce from a store (usually Del Monte) - it only has one ingredient: apples.
Out and about: cooler bag:) That's all I did and it worked fine.
We use organic Macintosh (sp?). You can buy store brand applesauce but it still has those little tiny chunks pieces and my DD won't eat it.
Target sells babyfood thermus'.
