Babies: 3 - 6 Months

STTN & Feeding a four-five month

Hi everyone, I haven't been on here in a very long time but I feel I need some input.  My son eats constantly, he is always hungry.  The doctor said that he should be STTN since he eats so well.  Does anyone have a baby this age that does not STTN?  Also, how much baby food does your LO eat in a day??

Re: STTN & Feeding a four-five month

  • Zach eats a lot as well and last night was the first time every he STTN. He eats 4oz of formula with 4tsp of oatmeal in it. He eats eveyr 3 hours during the day (like clock work) and the same at night. Last night he STTN and I was shocked. I sure hope it's not a fluke!

  • my LO is still up about once a night. we started Ferber a week and a few days ago. his problem was that he needed to be nursed to sleep, so we're following his chart to slowly increase the time between each feeding so that it gradually is phased out. last night, it was 6.5 hours between feedings. he usually wakes up once before he can eat, and DH goes in and soothes him and he falls back to sleep, so we know that he's not actually hungry. he is waking up kind of early in the morning though - about 6 a.m.

he isn't eating solids yet. we'll start that at 6 months.

  • we figure our LO is going through another growth spurt because he seems to be eating constantly too. He started cereal and stage 1 baby food at exactly 4 months (twice a day for now) and we were hoping that would help him STTN...no luck so far!! He's fussing and waking up almost every 2 hours at night! We only get him up to feed once, and the other times just soothe him back to sleep. It's almost like he's rolling so much he wakes himself up.

We're hoping he starts to STTN soon because we're definately getting worn out!
