Infertility

***smeyer, sourpop and Ked****

Did any of you ladies do accupuncture?  If so, where did you go?  Did they specialize in IF at all?

Thanks and I hope you are having a great weekend :)

Smeyer, I'd love to hear how you are doing and feeling!

Re: ***smeyer, sourpop and Ked****

  • Hey there!  I did acupuncture for quite awhile.  I don't know that it helped terribly from an IF perspective, but it helped in many other ways.  It did wonders for my previously terrible sleeping issues, it regulated my digestion, helped with allergies, etc.  I know of a few girls who've done acupuncture for headaches/migraines.  Anyway, I went 2 places.  The cheapest by far is to go to a student at the American Institute of Alternative Medicine over off of Cleveland and Schrock.  (The students do the questioning, check pulse points and tongue, then get a professor who will double check your pulse and tongue, then the 2 of them will discuss a treatment plan.)  It used to be $30/session but I think it's $35 now.  I also went to New Realm Acupuncture which is near of Wilson Bridge and High.  I liked it there but it's 2x the cost, $60/session.

The one thing that I do think may have helped is Mayan Abdominal Massage.  I found a massage therapist in the Clintonville area that's trained in it.  I only went 3 or 4 times, but I think she helped to reposition my uterus and increase blood flow.  It's about $60 (incl tip) but you only have to go once a month vs weekly.  I can't go during the 1st tri but I intend to start going again in mid-Feb.  I'm hoping she can help me stay as comfortable as I can be and keep these guys cooking as long as possible.

I'm doing well.  I've been feeling pretty good overall - no major morning sickness yet.  I had my 1st OB appt on 1/12 and both LOs were still there, hearts beating away.  Given my history she'd like to see me every 2 wks vs 4, so I have to sit tight until 1/25.  I'm really nervous about it all but I'm trying to be hopeful.

  • Hey there. I did not do acupuncture - although I wanted too. :-)  The place smeyer talked about thats $35 seems like a great place to start. I remember calling a few places that ORM recommended and it was around $100 a session!
  • smeyer,

I am so happy that everything is going well.  I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers to make sure those little ones stay nice and tight for a long time!

Will you PM me the name of the massage therapist in Clintonville if you have it?  That sounds very interesting to me and at the same time relaxing!
