formula babies: tap or bottled water?

Do you use tap water or bottled water for your LO's formula?

Re: formula babies: tap or bottled water?

  • I use bottled.  Not a fan of how our water tastes chlorinated for ME so no way for my DS.

  • Tap, but its filtered. We have a Brita filter on our kitchen faucet.

  • We use Tap Water.  I checked out the city's site and looked up the water information.  Everything looked good and our water doesn't taste bad sooo Tap Water for us.

  • I don't have a problem with our tap water, but we use gallons of distilled water from the supermarket. It's less than a buck per gallon

  • We used to buy distilled but most of the time when she gets formula its tap.

  • We just switched from Gerber Pure bottled to tap water filtered by Brita. She had a sensitive tummy at first, so we stuck with bottled water and strict Similac. Now we use Brita water and she likes the Up&Up (Target) Prebiotic infant formula - only 9 of the values are not identical to Similac.
  • I was using tap, but I am not using bottled. So much easier then having to boil water.

  • Our tap water is nasty, and it upsets DD's stomach.  So, bottled it is for us!
  • We use tap water but boil it first

  • I use warm tap water.  I used to use water from the filter on our fridge but it comes out cold and I got tired of filling up the bottles ahead of time so they'd sit out and get room temp.  lol  But I do use the water dispenser to fill the bottles if we're going out somewhere so that I have the water already in the bottles.

  • I'm paranoid about the water here. I remember there was an outbreak of something or another in the water when I was a kid, so I'm using bottled. BRB has their gallon of water usually on sale for about $0.89 and lasts a little over a week
  • we use nursery water. I'll use until we make the switch to whole milk. We have very hard water and I just feel better knowing DD is getting the extra vitamins of the nursery water.

  • We boil tap water.

  • tap. we boiled it for the first two months, and then the pedi told us we didn't have to anymore. Since two months old, it's been just plain tap water.
  • Public Health says to boil until babies are 4 months old, and to use hard water or spring water. We have a softener so we boil spring water.
  • RO or bottled...never tap.  I never drink it, so why should she?
