Eczema

Poor baby seems to have inherited Mommy's eczema problems.  Just noticed the tell-tale red blotches are developing on his arms and by his ears.

I live in a super dry climate and only bathe him twice a week.  Every morning he does get a little wipe down with a washcloth, followed by Huggies Lavendar & Camomile lotion.  We also battle cradle cap and super-dry, chapped lips all the time.

Any suggestions?  Aveeno?

Thanks!

Re: Eczema

  • I have eczema also. Don't use the lavendar lotion. Fragrance in lotion makes eczema worse. I would get eucerin cream. It comes in a jar. That stuff is awesome. Also use a sensitive mild body wash. Aveeno has one.

  • Thanks... didn't think about the lavendar scent being a problem.  Guess I'm headed to Walmart tonight!

  • Aveeno products have worked great for my LO's eczema.  We bathe him 2 - 3 times a week in the oatmeal bath.  For in between cleanings, I only use warm water on his face/neck/chest and then slather him in Aveeno baby cream in that area.  The rest of his body gets a daily Aveeno baby lotion rub down.  His skin looks so much better now.

  • The California Baby Calendula Cream (and body wash) are great for eczema. DS, DD, and I all have it and it works great for mild to moderate outbreaks. Burt's Bees baby wash also works well.
