I had no idea this Conan vs Leno thing is like politics & religion

Well the post I was referring to on another board was basically because I posted that I thought Jay Leno was being made out to look like the bad guy in this whole NBC mess.

I feel bad for him. NBC asked him to step aside and hand the tonight show to Conan years ago- then NBC realized they didn't want to lose him and came up with the 10pm idea......basically NBC is the one in the wrong here- they created this mess and never gave Conan or Jay the time to make either show work.

Anyway, these girls are getting all worked up over Jay Leno. They all say he "retired" and I say that NBC told him years ago he's out at the Tonight Show.

I don't want to start any drama over here on this board over something so silly. But seriously....since when did Jay Leno/ Conan O'Brien/ and NBC become a topic like politics and relgion.?!?!

    Since people started caring more about entertainment than religion and politics?  ;)  Sad but true... 

    And yes, I agree, so much uproar when there are thousands of people hurt or dead in Haiti...

    I've always preferred Jay Leno, but the only reason is because I saw a live taping once when I was 18 and ever since then I've enjoyed watching it since I had seen how it all worked behind the scenes and got to meet him etc.

    I saw his show too when I was in CA.....I like how he came out and met with everyone who wanted to say hello.

    I have nothing against Conan, I don't dislike him. I think NBC was stupid to f-up a good thing they had going with Jay doing the tonight show.

    Just had no idea people were so violently for one or the other!

    NBC made poor decisions all the way around.  BOTH Leno and Conan are stuck dealing whats dealt to them.  I would love to see another network snatch both of them up!

    Everyone over there is like "jay's a d!ck" blah blah.....I"d never post something like that about anyone

    NBC is the bad guy in all this.

    Jay Leno was a good soldier for them for 5 years- they told him in 2004 he had to give up the Tonight Show in 2009 and he stayed. He remained number 1 and made money for them....he could have walked then....but he didn't.

    I'll agree it doesn't "look" good that he's going back to the Tonight Show now- he could have said 'its Conans show now' But maybe he's bound to an NBC contract or something....who know.

    I just feel bad that he looks like the bad guy in this....when it is NBC.
