2nd Trimester

Grumble, grumble, grumble, Canada Sucks!

Why oh why is it so damn hard to find baby stuff in Canada???????  Every single stinking crib I've seen is Espresso.  Why can't I find a freaking light coloured crib?  And why are there only TWO places to buy maternity clothes?  AHHHH!  I just want to scream!

Ok. I'm alright now.  Just needed to vent.  Grrr.

  • *hugs* I'm in the same boat lovie...it sucks. We were just talking registries over lunch, and the girls were surprised I'd only registered at BRU but then realised...we don't really have any other option.

  • I'm sorry!!!!  Thats not fun!  If it makes you feel better there aren't many options here in Oregon for maternity clothes either!

  • Yes, but you DO have mounties with funny hats......how awesome is that?
  • Im with you ladies on the grumbles! Its terrible! I go to the states to buy EVERYTHING...literally everything...we'd probably just move there if we were able to work. Also my city offers ZERO pregnancy activites besides prenatal...no yoga...no massage...no aquasize...nothing...its lonely!
  • But don't you get a year of maternity leave?  Sure beats our stupid six weeks.
  • I've only been able to find one.. .and we have West Edmonton Mall to play in.

  • While I agree that stinks, I'd rather have limited maternity clothes and baby items in exchange for the year of paid maternity leave!

I know ordering furniture over the internet kind of stinks, you do have that options though.

Yeah, I'd take the trouble with clothes and limited registry options for a full year of maternity leave.

    This is true!

Where have you already looked for cribs?

BRU, The Bay, Sears, Walmart. I've looked online, but the slection there isn't much better.  Specialty shop, here I come.

  • I agree. I found THREE cribs in white. I had no other option but to get one of them.

I have bought like 5 things from a maternity place in Canada. Everything else is American.

  • True we do have the option to order things online...however the shipping costs are UNREAL to Canada and places like Pottery Barn Kids wont ship to Canada so it really limits the options.  As far as mat leave...we do get the 1 year BUT for those of us (myself) who were in school before anyways its irrelevant...I will still have to go back to work within 6 months of having baby due to needing the income...so in that case Id much rather take the goods than the time! ha
