I love Reality TV but agree that it should go the way of the Dodo..preferably, before Morgan can sign up to be on Ray of Love, the Viagra Years.

Raving Rabbids is cool but her infatuation with all things Punk creeps me out a bit. It all seems a little Single White Female. Has anyone else heard from Punk and Aidan? How do we know she doesn't have them locked in her basement? Wink

After reading some of the things that Rush Dumbaugh said regarding Haiti, I wish he would have kicked the bucket last week.

    That's all....for now.

toosdai, i am getting my hair done on saturday. i am printing out your picture so i can tell the stylist to make me look just like you.

and i have a cot set up for you in my basement too. dont worry, its from ikea so its pretty comfy. ;)

  • All of my kids will be taught to address adults as m'am or sir.  They will also say please/thank you.  Period.

I agree about the RR statement.  That chick is so far up there she can see Punk's tonsils, I swear it.

George Clooney is old.  Jennifer Aniston has a big chin.

Oh what did that windbag have to say? Reminds me of Wanda Sykes White House Correspondents dinner. On another board I go to people got all up in my face cause I thought what she said was fuckinghiarious.

Dude 99% of this board is random toddler related nonsense. You get 1% crazy (albeit fun for me) arguing and drama and you can't handle it? Do you have a panic room you're living in?

I 100% agree with this statement!!

My UO is... Do you really need to call your Pedi for everything?!?!?!? I've called the public health nurse line when there is an unexplainable rash/ projectile vomitting, etc, but when I see someone say my DC has a fever and the runs should I call my pedi I cringe every time. No you should use the god given sense you have and if your child gets worse then by all means call the doctor.

Whew that felt good to get off my chest

I love reality tv.  I have a small obsession.  I am trying to quit!

I am not sure if I am too late to the game, but I totally judge people who send their kids to public schools (in this area) and drive super expensive cars. The public school system here is CRAP and I am saddened that they would rather pay for an expensive car then pay tuition for their child.

The public schools around here are good so this doesn't bother me.  DH and I will do public schools and have expensive-ish cars (well, at least he does).  What bothers me is people who have crap loads of money around here (like $1 million + houses, 2 mercedes, dripping in jewelry) and have sent their kids to $15,000+ private school since Kindergarten (when we have a good public system) and then refuse to let their kid choose any college.  They can easily afford $40,000+ to send their kid to a Duke or Princeton that their kid gets into and they force them to go to a UNC school because it's in-state tuition.  My parents were not wealthy and sacrificed to pay for me to go to a good, private school that was my dream school and these people are too selfish to give up a few vacations a year or one of their sports cars to let their kid go wherever they get into.

ETA:  I am not saying public colleges are not as good as private ones AT ALL but if you can afford it and your kid's dream is to go to Duke and they get in, I think it's lame you force them to go to a state school because it's cheapers....especially when you just paid $120,000+ for their K-12 education.

I think the larkster makes up a lot of crap. I love her lots but whenever I read her status updates or some stuff on her blog I wonder if she more than "enhanced" the things she wrote. I mean did that REALLY happen? And does that stuff really happen so frequently?

everytime i try to say that, i get in trouble for being negative.

Yes, I believe in the "all things in moderation." And I think we all know that no one intends to include sharp knives, loaded weapons and rat poison in that. There's a silent phrase in there some people are missing. It's really "All things (that make sense to a reasonable human being who doesn't have a big stick shoved up their butt about whatever topic is currently being compared to crack) in moderation."

i hardly have a stick up my asss and used the comparison to crack facetiously.  and yes, sugar, butter, tv, whatever are all fine, but overall there clearly is an over consumption of all the aforementioned in our society/culture (read: there's a lot fat kids sitting on their butt, watching tv, eating meals out of boxes on a regular basis).

"moderation" isn't an amount.  your idea of moderation and my idea of moderation are different and i think that a lot of people say this and may really believe they do x, y, z in moderation but don't.  that's why it bugs me so much.  other than that i couldn't care less about how you eat, what you do, don't do...

It's not just about you, VV. Every single time someone comes up with "moderation" when talking about giving a kid a cup of juice or eating at McDonalds, someone comes back with the "Well, I wouldn't give them CRACK in moderation!!!!" It's tiresome.

And clearly, you do care about what others eat/do/don't do, at least enough to judge them for it.

Also, in a related vein, although a different pp than VV...and my I just say, damn we have a lot of double initials...

I don't have a big problem with "well, my mom did it with me and I'm fine." Sometimes, it's true. Sometimes, new theories are just new theories and not something that's been handed down by God on a stone tablet. I'm not talking about the fact that I used to ride standing up on the front seat of my mom's Olds when I was Joseph's age. There's plenty of documentation to support the idea that maybe strapping his butt to a chair is a good idea. I just think there are a whole lot of eye-rolling young mothers who like to give grandma crap about how different things are now and how amazing it is that kids even surivived at all, but because I really care about my child enough to educate myself on the latest half-baked theory to come down the pike, THIS is what we will do instead.

I sometimes wonder if the whole milk mania and the "back to sleep" stuff won't change by the time we are grandparents.

  • I don't like Lady Gaga. She is classicly trained & talented yet she sold out as a pop star. Sorry "performance artist"

    I HATE American Idol.

this makes me cranky.  she's smart, funny, entertaining.  she does what a lot of writers do, she embellishes.  not to mention, she's had one hell of a craptastic year, so if she wants to get wordy and blow off some steam, i'm all for it.  i like reading her posts and wish she posted more.

    that is all.

  • Toosdai...we don't have basements here in Florida. ;)

Yeah, I'll agree it's been a little overkill with talking about Punk.  Someone else pointed it out to me last week and I just thought it was pretty fun/neat to meet someone that was pretty well known on this board.

And yes, I think that everyone knows that my S/N used to be Stepharoonie.  I'm pretty sure that I posted it a few times before :)

Attics?? Is she stuffed away in your attic?

::Punk, are you in danger?:: Blink Once for Yes, Twice for No.

  • I really don't know if there are true attics in Florida.  I know there are small crawl spaces, but not enough to fit a body into it.

Um.  Maybe I shouldn't have said that.  ;)

Now I'll have to ask people around here if Floridians have attics.  We don't in this house.

I really think that NBC is being hugely d!ckish to Conan.  I hope he moves to Fox as well and takes people with him.
