When can you start using an excersaucer??

Barrett got one for Christmas when he was about 4.5 months old. He tried out his cousin's when he was about 3.5 months old and he was too small. We had to use pillows. Now he fits perfectly and LOVES it!!

When they have very strong head control. Another cue for me was that DS loved to stand. We put him in around 4 months for just a few minutes at a time.

Daycare started putting DD in at about 3.5 months. She loves it!

You can research recomendations for each saucer, but I think 4 months is the average. We got ours at Christmas when DD was just over 4 months. I think the biggest factor is your LO length(height) and weight - otherwise they are just hanging there and can't touch the floor. Though her's is the jumper/ saucer.

We use her jumperoo (like an exersaucer) since she was about 10 weeks old (she's 13 now). We only keep her in it for like 2 minutes, then she fusses. And she cant reach the floor, so we use a shoebox under her feet. We supervise every moment she's in there, so I think it's fine to use it when they can hold their head up.

DD started using hers when she could touch the bottom until then its not good for them. (I don't subscribe to the just use a box/pillow mentality.) She really started using it and loving it at about 5 months.

We started to use it last week, while we supervised her. She loves to stand, so we thought she'd be ready. She doesn't really play with any of the toys yet, but loves looking at everything. I think it just depends on the baby....

DD got one from Santa and we started using it then (about 12 weeks-ish). We've built up the time in it. She seems to like it. She was spinning around in it today!

When he has excellent head and neck control and his feet can reach the bottom on the lowest setting...for us, that was somewhere around 4 months, and now he LOVES it! He went in there after his cereal last night and dad and I got to eat at teh table...together!
