NTR - 5 year anniv. trip?

I was just telling DH how I would love to go on a trip for our 5 year anni in fall 2011 (obviously a ways away, but was on my mind). Maybe a Sandals or some other all inclusive place. Since our honeymoon, we've only been on vacation just the 2 of us once (we took a trip when I was pregnant to Charleston). We've been out of town once a year with my family to FL, but nothing on our own. He responded that most people don't take a 5 year anni trip. Is that true? Maybe I'm asking for too much. I realize it's not like we haven't had a vacation in 5 years, but am I way out there on a trip like this for just the 2 of us? TIA!

    We are planning to go to Europe in 2011 for our 10th. ?I think for our 5th we did something more local, but still got away for a weekend. ?We had a blast just getting away, which is what counts : )

    Our 5 year anniversary is April of 2011 and I suggested the same to my DH. I want to go back to St. Thomas (where we got married) for just a short vacation (4 days or so). We don't have a lot of $, but we have more than a year to save. We haven't had any vacation at all since the summer of 2007.

    We are heading to Athens and Italy for our 5 Year this Spring (taxes/bonus pending).  I think most people DO take 5 Year Anniversary trips if it fits into their budget/lifestyle.

    We plan on going somewhere for our 5th anniversary.  We were married in October, so we're a bit limited as far as tropical locations because that's the height of hurricane season (we honeymooned in Aruba).  But I don't much care where we go.  Even if it's semi-local and we drive, that's fine.  It's still a trip without the kids.  :)

    We had talked about taking a 5 year ann. trip, mainly because we didn't take a honeymoon (we bought a house w/ our honeymoon money and had already had a vacation w/ 4 friends planned for 6 months later, so just never took the time).  Now, though, we are going to have an 8 month old and a two year old on our 5 year, and probably won't be quite ready to take a big trip.

    We wanted to go back to Sandals for our 5 year this summer.  I highly doubt that will happen right now b/c A) new baby won't even be 2 months old and I don't want to pump while I'm on vacation and B) we don't need to spend the money.

    We might opt for a smaller, closer to home option instead.  We really wanted to have a big trip for our 5 yr but it's just not going to work out.

    I don't think you're way out there.  5 yrs is a milestone and a good excuse for a romantic vacation for the 2 of you.

    Why does it even have to be a 5 year anniv trip (I'm asking this to your DH)? Why can't you to go away for a nice trip just because? The 5 year anniv only makes it more meaningful.

    Does he not like to travel? Who wouldn't want to go on a nice getaway with your loved one? :)

    If you have the money or have the time to save the money for 2011 and he's at least not against it, then start planning it. I'm sure he'll enojoy it more than he imagines he will :)

    Our 5 year is next month and this is what we are planning. I'm super excited!

    we are taking a trip - probably back to Mexico in Oct for our 5th.  If we do an all inclusive, we may even renew our vows, or talk to our pastor about doing it around our anniv.

    We just had our 6th anniversary on Sunday. Last year, DS was 2mos old and I was BFing so we couldn't go anywhere w/o the kids, we decided to go to a waterpark resort 2hrs away with my ILs for a few days. We did the same this year too and are thinking of making it a yearly family thing. At least for a few years until the kids are older.
