I went to this maternity boutique that also has a 4D ultrasound room and a massage room for pregnant women and I had been trying to get a job there. After trying for a while and checking back they said they didn't need anyone right now but the manager told me I could come in anytime and get a 4D u/s for 25% off because I've been persistent on wanting a job with them. Well last week I talked to the u/s tech about doing one and she suggested to schedule an appt when I'm 17 weeks (this week) because the baby has more fat and we'll get a better picture. She also said they were very slow lately, not much business, so I could come the day before we wanted our u/s and they'd get me in first. Well what do ya know I go in today to schedule it for tomorrow and a new lady tells me they're booked til next week! I'm so pissed off because if I knew they were gonna get a lot of u/s appts I would've booked ours last week for tomorrow! I've just been looking forward to this so bad and now I'm really impatient and upset..

And I wouldnt do it at 17 weeks anyway. The pics would be better later on
Ditto this. I got a sneak peak of a 3D u/s yesterday and the tech explained to me how the baby is mostly skeletal right now, and if we really wanted a good 3D/4D experience, to book it for later in pregnancy.

Maybe they had an unexpected boom in business. She just gave you the information that she had at the time. Things change.
Like the PP said, I wouldn't do it at 17w anyway. At my big u/s, they did some 4D shots. The baby is still super skinny. You want the baby to have time to fatten up. With DD we went to a special 4D u/s place and it was recommended to go between 28 and 32 weeks. The baby is fatter at that time but they aren't cramped for space. Those pics were MUCH better than the 4D ones I got at my big u/s with DS.

I agree!! Wait if you can. Baby will be so fat and cute by like 25 weeks!! I know its hard to wait when you get your hopes up but I think it will be worth the wait!!

I had a gender u/s at a private u/s place at 15 weeks. They gave us sneak peaks on the 3D/4D as well. Baby is still very skeletal. They recommended booking a 3D/4D ultrasound at around around 30/32 weeks to be able to get the best picture. Right now, your baby isn't going to look like it will when he/she is born. IMO, its a waste of money doing it this early.
EDIT: I just saw your update. You didn't include that in your OP so thats why you got the responses you got about waiting. The u/s place has NO way of knowing if they will have a boom in business. Its hardly something to get worked up about... Its a week not months.
FYI you never said anything about it being a "package deal" in your orig. post. I was trying to be nice but I think that you are a crying baby!
Hmmm that's funny that's how ALL the freakin "vent" posts on here are! Everyone makes it like waaaa poor me and I'm not as bad as some ppl. Psh..this is the last time I "vent" about anything here. Thanks for nothin! :-)

I'm not gonna make a rude comment here since I think you should be able to comment or state an opinion without snarkiness included, but I agree with the others who said about waiting
I'd wait until about 20 weeks or so when the baby has a lot more fat and such!

A lot of the "vent" posts on here are actually something to complain/vent about. This is just silly (hence the responses). So you have to wait an extra week... not a really big deal. Personally, I would have booked ahead anyway because these things can happen.

I think your pregnancy hormones may be getting the best of you here. Calm down. A lot of the women were just responding saying that it's not THAT big of a deal that you couldn't get in when you wanted and that it would be better to wait so you got a better 4d ultrasound. We didn't have the info that you were getting another one at a later date. It is perfectly normal to be upset when something doesn't go your way (especially when preg) but don't overreact that you aren't being coddled about it. It's just really not that big of a deal! You'll get your ultrasound next week, and all will be well

I'm sorry but what, exactly, did you want support FOR? Your post wasn't about being disappointed - it was about being angry that they told you one thing last week and something else this week. The way you worded it made it seem like you thought they screwed you and they didn't.
So, you're upset because a place that is giving you 25% off for doing nothing more than repeatedly asking about a job has upset you because, although the u/s tech "suggested to schedule an appointment", you chose instead to wing it because she also mentioned they'd been slow THAT week.
People do vent. Sometimes over understandable things, sometimes not. When not, people often make comments to the effect of, with one degree of bluntness or another, "Get over it." That is what has happened here. A not-whiny sounding reaction to this situation would be "Oh, well, it's nice they're giving me a discount for nothing!", or "Geez, guess I should have listened about making an appointment and not figured they'd be slow again next week!", or "at least I only have to wait a week!".
We waited till 28 weeks which is what our place said was ideal and we got amazing pictures. I would wait it out if you can!
See a post like this I can respect. I'm gonna go cool off let my hormones settle down and stop looking at all these posts that you guys are just trying to hurt my feelings with or fan the flame. And as for the "GBCB" I don't need to run away. I like this website and girls are most of the time supportive. This was just a hormones raging fest so I'm gonna go chill and I suggest you girls do the same so we're not rude anymore.
