Pregnant after a Loss

Anyone else's belly measure ahead?

Yesterday at my appt. the dr. said that my belly was measuring at 28 weeks.  Ignore my ticker but according to my O date I was just 26 weeks, 4 days yesterday.)  That should be good right? That means that she's growing happy and healthy in there?

Are those measurements usually on track?  I'd love for her to be measuring ahead...

Side note: I know that a week or so isn't a big deal really as some women measure 2-3 weeks ahead, I'm just curious. Thanks!

Re: Anyone else's belly measure ahead?

  • Fundal height is a pretty inaccurate measurement. I was measuring 2 weeks ahead for most of the pregnancy, then 3-4 as I entered 3rd tri, and then around 36 weeks I started measuring on track (after getting a growth u/s confirming that baby & fluid were normal).

  • I've been measuring ahead by a week to two weeks the whole time.  I just have a large uterus :o)  It was the same way with DD.  We all grow differently!

  • I haven't had mine measured yet, when do they start doing those? My next appt is 2/1 on the day I change to 27 weeks.

  • I measured 26 weeks at my appt. last Tuesday and if I go by O day I would have been 23w 3d so I'm ahead but on the U/S she measured almost right on with 24weeks.

  • I've measured 2 weeks ahead since my belly started getting measured.  I had an u/s at 32 weeks to check on the size of the baby and also check the fluid level; baby measured just one week ahead and fluid was normal.  Sometimes they worry that there could be too much fluid if your belly measures ahead.  It sounds like you're doing fine though.
  • I've been measuring 4-6 wks ahead since 26 wks or so. Yesterday iwas measuring 42 cm and they have confirmed baby is also that size. Doctor is only concerned that baby won't fit vaginally but that is very rare and at only ten days or so ahead I wouldn't worry about it. They will probably do a growth u/s if it keeps up.
  • With dd, I measured 2 weeks ahead most of the pregnancy.  She was born 4 days late and was only 6lb 5oz.

This time I'm measuring 1 week ahead.  So, we'll see.  Measuring big doesn't always mean big baby.....just a big ute!  :)
