Arg, forgot my pump parts

So I bring my pump to/from work every day. In 4 months, I have never forgotten my parts...until today. I did not realize this until I got everything out to pump around 11am. Arg, so annoying.

Ever happen to anyone else? I ended up just coming home. :-(

Will baby #3 be another girl?

  • I have!  I ended up just hand expressing that day and going to daycare to nurse instead of pumping.  I was in pain by the end of the day, though.  And then I bought another set of pump parts to leave at work for emergencies!

  • Yes, it happened to me one time, it was awful.  I ended up leaving around 2 pm and went straight home to pump...I felt like my boobs were going to explode on the drive home!

  • I pumped at work for 8 months (total 12 months of BFing) and it happened to me a lot.  I was just so tired, I'd forget one part -- like the cups, or the membranes, etc.  I'd then call my hubby and have him drop them off (we only live 5 miles from work).  He'd have to leave the parts at the security desk.  The security guard was always wondering what was in those paper bags :)

  • This just happened last week.  My boss covered my class so I could run home and pump. . . pretty annoying but I guess we're just human. . . totally exhausted, brain dead humans.  (speaking for myself anyway)

Me, too.  First time I did this, I got extra parts, and ended up being very glad I had them the next time.

  • In the 9.5 months of working while nursing I definitely have! A couple of times I've driven home (15-20 minutes) and called that my lunch break. I have extra parts but if I use them and forget to 'restock' well, then I really don't have extra parts.

I forgot one day and DH was still near the house so I made him go back to get them for me. He was mad that he was going to be late for work (maybe 10 minutes) but after reminding him that I take 45 minutes of my day every day to pump, plus wash the parts and make the bottles he could be 10 effing minutes late one day so I don't have to take a lunch break at 9:00am to go fetch them. They arrived without complaint after that. :)

  • It happens!  The best was when I took my cooler with bm out and then left it on my desk on a Friday night - I had to call my boss and ask him to put the little bag back in the fridge!  No way was I wasting pumped milk.
