is it possible to wash bedding/clothes too early?

i was wondering if its possible to wash baby stuff too early. i was just wondering bc i dont want to wash all the bedding and put it on the crib and have it get dusty/dirty and have to wash it several times before baby gets here since theres no way of telling for sure when she will be here. and i def dont want to bring her home to dirty bedding either. so how early will you be washing baby stuff?

Re: is it possible to wash bedding/clothes too early?

  • A friend of mine told me to go ahead and wash it, but just cover the entire crib with a normal bed sheet afterward. That way when baby arrives you can just pull of the sheet and everything is ready to go!

  • I washed everything at 34 weeks and rewashed the bedding before DS slept in it. He slept in his moses basket for the first few weeks.

  • I ahve two bedding sets. One is on now, the other is washed and put away. When we get home with the LO my fiance will be switch out the bedding that's been on the crib for a while now while his four brothers and sister and his mom introduce themselves to LO. (we're not allowing any visitors at the hospital because that's our little bonding time with the new baby before the craziness of home-life lol)
  • I washed everything at 36 weeks.  My LO will be sleeping in the bassinet of the PNP at first so I will be re-washing the crib sheet before we put him in there.  I want everything to still feel fresh so I held off on washing for awhile.
