We like Carter's for comfy clothes for around the house. And honestly it seems to fit DD the best. We'll probably continue buying Carter's until 18months or so.

I like Carters stuff. I like my baby to look like a baby. I prefer he not grow up so quickly, so I still dress him in onesies and knit pants. We have started using Jumping Beans too and like those as well, but the pants just dont accomodate his belly like Carters stuff does.
I buy PJs at Carter's, mostly because it's hard to find footie PJs (especially in the summer).
I am not a fan of the rest of their stuff. And that store is SOOOO crowded it makes my head spin.
And the "sales" they have aren't as great as people think - if I shop smart I can get stuff at Gap or Gymboree (sorry Punk) for the same price as Carter's.
1. They are extremely affordable and the clothes are durable
2. I have nooooo desire to pay 29.50 (or even 19.99 on sale) for a pair of jeans for a 17 month old
On the other hand, for special occasions we do look for "outfits" elsewhere
no one is even mentioning that as an option.
but since it was mentioned....I most certainly have pai 20 bucks on a pair of jeans that brock has worn for almost 5 months now....and they are too stinkin cute

I paid 25 for DD's first pair of Gap jeans. They were mostly DH's idea, but they are too cute on her.

oh their little tooshes in jeans....SOOOO CUTE. i even bought the kinds with holes already in them... :::gasp:::
I don't detest it....but my son's skin does. He got chemical burns from their tagless clothing...and NO they weren't just the Fall 2007 collection. He gets rashes from ALL tag less clothing but Carters made his skin ooze a brownish fluid. Nice! At least their customer service is great, they gladly took back every item I had and gave me a nice fat check.

THANK YOU! My gosh I don't get it. I mean if you have a little girl and dress in her skirts and dresses every day GREAT! But does a 2 year old need to be in cotton stetchy pants daily? I kid you not, my son doesn't leave the house unless in Denim or cargo pants. Best jeans I've bought were $14 at Old Navy. and I also LOVE Osh Kosh denim
I like Carters for pj's and sleepers, and some outfits in, say, the first 6 months. But after that, I agree with you...too cutesy.
I don't ever buy jeans for her anywhere else. Ours is an outlet, so I don't know if that makes a difference, but I just bought 5 pairs of jeans for her for $8 a piece...and they hold up SO well. Those outlast any of her other jeans from Target or anywhere else. For $8, I'll drive the 25 minutes to the outlet.
I LOVE the onsies. They seems to last much longer size wise. I bought DS the 6 month ones and just started to get small around the time he fit into 12 months. I then bought the 12 month ones and they are just starting to get small and he barely fits into 18 month clothes anymore. I do like some things from there. I think I would shop more if I had a girl, they have much better selection, at least in my store. We got a cute outfit for DS for his birthday that isn't too baby-ish at all, it's a vest and pants.
I LOVE them. I dread the day I have to buy 3T stuff for Olivia. Everything nowadays has something written across the butt or looks wayyy too adult for my taste. No thanks, she cant even read and there is something across her butt? Horrible. I like her to stay looking like a baby as long as I can get away with it. I have no prob with the cutesy-ness of it.
I lurve Carter's. I don't see myself dressing the girls in it past two or so, but for now I like it. I want to keep them looking baby-ish for as long as possible

I still like Carter's and plan on going to the outfit until DD is out of 18-24 months. I still see her as a baby more than a toddler though so my mind may change in another 6 months. I think their clothes are really cute. Then again, I like Gymboree, too! I guess that's just the style I like...

I love Carter's b/c they fit Ian well and are durable. I will agree that they have some not-so-cute options though. I'm starting to buy more stuff from Osh Kosh these days.

I love Carter's. I bought DD a pair of jeans and a pair of khaki's over the summer for her for winter. They were only $5.99 each! I should have bought a few more. They still fit in the length which is hard to find for her and they are cute. Carter's and Osh Kosh are the only brands that don't shrink really bad and hold up the best. I have never had any problems with Carter's stuff.
I like Carter's a lot. But keep in mind that where I live my only shopping options are Kohl's, Walmart, Meijer and Kmart so Carter's at Kohl's is about as good as it gets unless I drive 1.5 hours away. And I am another weirdo because I love how jeans look on my DS, but I don't think they are all that comfy so I usually opt for sweatpants for every day wear. Or little cargo pants.

I love Carters, but I really haven't found much that I like now that DD is older. I guess I consider it more for infants. The pajamas are great, though.
I feel this way about Gymboree. I don't get what the BFD is about this store. It's over-priced and the clothes are cheesy. She has a few things from there, but I can't say I'm a fan nor do I understand the huge following this overpriced place has.
<<As I type this I realize that DD's outfit in my siggy is from Gymboree. Doh.>>

I was going to say how much I loved them, but then I realized that like all of you, all we have are onesies and pj's. But I do love those!
Honestly? I think the selection for little boys EVERYWHERE is horrendous. Why can I not find any nice clothes for a little boy?

I love their onesies and pajamas---from birth - older child.
But I am not a *huge* fan of their clothes. I like BabyGap.
