March For Babies-Fundraising ideas?

Besides sending out emails and putting the badges on your blog, fb, etc.  what other things are you doing to raise money?

I feel so bad asking people for money since it's such a tough economy right now.  So instead of just asking people for a straight donation, I'm trying to do something where people can get something in return.... 

I'm also trying to come up with an idea involving dimes to go with the March of Dimes theme.  Any ideas?

    I did one of those fundraising for a marathon things and there were people that did things like get a local bar to donate $1 from each cover charge and sell jell-o shots in the bar.  It seemed like those that teamed up with some kind of business raised the most money the fastest.
