What colors did you have? Did you have your pics taken somewhere special? Where was the ceremony? Any personal touches at the reception? What was your dress like? What was your favorite moment of the day?
I love planning weddings, and hearing about them!

Re: Give me a rundown of your wedding
my colors were silver, blue and white. We had it at this venue place near my house. I think my dress is in my bio.
My favorite part was dancing with my dad, he was shaking like a leaf he was so nervous!! MIL's sister and the DJ did a good job on making the rest.."memorable".....
Location: Playa Del Carmen, Mexico.
Colors: BM's bule and green, GM's black and white, RB's blue and green shitrs, black pants.
Ceremony was on the beach, barefoot!
Pictures were taken in the botanical gardens, on the beach, in town.
We had them play "somewhere over the rainbow" by Israel Kamakawiwo'ole while we singed our doccuments.
I'm going to AW some pics!
And this one because DH looks hot. lol
We had all fall colors; lots of creams, reds, oranges. We had pics taken outside the ceremony site but didn't go anywhere special (it got too dark to go to the park like we had orginally planned).
Our ceremony was at a beautiful golf course.
I planned my entire wedding down to the very last details by myself. I was pretty proud of myself.
My bouquet
Our cake
Part of the reception hall; to the right there was a beautiful wood bar and the dance floor.
I found a branch and our guests wrote little notes on the leaves and hung them on the tree...it turned out really neat.
We gave all the guests a small pine tree with a little note that said something sappy on it...I can't remember what we wrote.
We had a double wedding with my sister who is two years older than me.
What colors did you have? Teal/purples and orange
Did you have your pics taken somewhere special? It was supposed to be an outdoor ceremony on the pier at the beach but June is S.FL= Rain. It ended up inside. So we had a few pics outside with a beach view after it rained but they sucked.
Where was the ceremony? Embassy Suites at the beach
Any personal touches at the reception? A chocolate fountain.
What was your dress like?
What was your favorite moment of the day? Our first dance
Ours was failry simple and low key:
Pictures: at a pretty cool water feature in the next city over
Ceremony: an old 1860 catholic church, white clapboard exterior and wood floors, pews....very small but perfect!
Reception: at the hotel a block away from the church
Dress: Lace Alfred Angelo
Colors: fall colors
Flowers: mine were burnt orange calla lillies and brides maids, ivory roses with babies breaths
Bridemaids dresses: tea length, strapless, burnt orange
Favorite Moment: there were two: my mom had saved a bottle of 1800 tequila for about 20 years and we all shared it at the reception and we were back in our room after the reception, uh taking a break
and then a knock on the door...I go to answer it and it's my SIL with two In and Out cheese burgers and fries! It was soo good!
Location: Oahu, Hawaii (at an ancient Hawaiian fishpond)
Color: Raspberry
Favorite Moment: Taking pics before the ceremony on a little peninsula overlooking the ocean and the ceremony/reception site (it was the relaxing part of the whole event- just the two of us, oh and the photographer). The fishpond overlooks Chinamen's hat for those of you who are familiar with Oahu.
Dress: white strapless dress (I think there is a pic in my nest profile)
Theme: simple family affair
Favorite touch: instead of cut flowers we purchased potted orchids as centerpieces and for our guests to take home. My aunt still send me pictures of her plants.
*photo removed*
What colors did you have? Apple green and mango. BM's dresses were green, most flowers were orange (I carried mango calla lillies, the BM's carried gerber daisies)
Did you have your pics taken somewhere special? Just at the wedding and reception places. DH and I stopped on our way to the reception and took pics on the beach.
Where was the ceremony? Amelia Island, FL
Any personal touches at the reception? I put a lot of thought into it, but the details definitely aren't fresh in my mind anymore. I know one thing I did was have framed pictures of all of our parents and grandparents on their wedding days. I loved, loved, loved that element.
What was your dress like? Strapless, white, and silk. It had pick ups in the skirt so it was really full. I loved it to pieces.
What was your favorite moment of the day? Dancing with DH, and when DH and I were alone in the limo.
our wedding was on St. Patricks Day
I'd always wanted to get married either at the beach (but I grew up 2 hours away from the beach)... or at this beautiful old historic house in my hometown. Turns out, meeting DH moved me closer to the beach and I ended up with a relatively "beach" wedding. We had the ceremony at a church 2 miles from beach - and the reception at a resort Hotel on the beach.
colors: Black and white. (BM dress were any black cocktail dress they wanted to wear). With accents of Sage and Silver
BM dresses:
pictures: I had to have pics out on the beach. Luckily weather cooperated (the previous year, it hailed on SP Day)
Personal Touches: we did a "heritage table" with wedding pics of family members going back to the late 1800's. And our Table numbers were a picture that I took on one of our dates of a heart he had drawn in the sand for me. I saved money (tight budget) by making my own centerpieces and favors - which were large hersey bars that I wrapped over
centerpiece:
favors:
too many favorite moments. I couldn't really pick just one or two. More pics in my ancient bio.

We got married down the Cape at Ocean Edge Resort. It was planned for being outside under a huge maple tree on an expansive lawn (like Great Gatspy) with white chairs and a runner covered in rose petals. There was a huge Nor Easter so...
We got married in the Mansion living room. I came down a large antique carved wooden stairwell that turned half way down. (Thought I would take a header). Everyone was crowded in the room because it really wasn't big enough for our guests - so around 50 were standing. It felt more like the guests were participating in the ceremony vs. just watching. They all had drinks in their hands. We were married under a huge hoopa (Jewish) covered in Jade Roses, Hydrangea, white orchards and delphinium. We signed a katuba (spelling) Jewish Marraige contract. It's more of a work of art that you hang - we're not that religous and my husband stepped on the glass.
My brides maids wore black halter dresses and carried about 50 roses squeezed into round bouquets in jade green and lavendar with blue delphinium (sea glass colors). Mine was round with white roses and orchards. I also carried my mothers white wedding bible and my mothers "sign of life" necklace that had also been my grandmothers. The cocktail hour was in the mansion and the reception was in a huge pavillion.
We did the dance on top of the chairs - thought I was going to be propelled like a rocket - Bob was in a fraternity so the guys were very enthusiastic. We had a memorial table for my parents and DH's dad with pictures and had one of each of their siblings light a memorial candle next to the picture and our officiant said a prayer before we cut the cake. Cake was three layers decorated with chocolate shells and fondant - top had same flowers as bridesmaids. Each persons seat card was tied ot a sand dollar. My Llardro cake topper sat next to the cake - it was a gift from my bridesmaid and was about a foot tall - to big for the cake, but beautiful.
We had an awesome band, open bar and wine service at the table, coffee, tea and pastries after the reception. The meal was 5 courses with three options for the meal. The flowers at the reception were the same type as the wedding, but they were giant trees on each table. So they were over your head when you were sitting - each one was circular and three feet wide. (Favorite part of wedding was the flowers - the florist that did my parents wedding did mine - mom worked at the Boston Flower Exchange fo 20 years so he gave me a great deal and went over board for us.)
Everyone stayed at the resort - the fraternity brothers stocked a bar and food for an after party that went until dawn the next morning. We took pictures on the beach during a break in the monsoon rain!
I like to say my sunshine was standing next to me that day! My uncle walked me down the aisle due to my dad's passing. Oh yeah, the guys wore black tuxes (I let them either rent or wear their own if they owned one.) and we gave them ties to wear. DH wore a black tux with an ascot and blue vest. I wore a strapless gown with beading and a french bussle. Hair was up, with just some pearls across the top of the bun and a comb stuck in the back with the veil. Very classic - not over the top over anything.
What colors did you have? Pink and Brown
Did you have your pics taken somewhere special? Just all around the venue and at the hotel we were getting ready at.
Where was the ceremony? at King Plow Arts Center in Atlanta, it's a old warehouse that used to be a papermill back in the day.
Any personal touches at the reception? As we were introduced for the first time we had the DJ play the song that my parents danced to/were married to at their wedding. Also, on my bouquet I had lace from my mothers wedding dress around the stems with a necklace that held a picture of my 2 grandparents that had already passed. And the florist also put the lace from my moms dress around DH's flower!
What was your dress like? It was a Vera Wang dress that was simple but yet amazing!
What was your favorite moment of the day? I had 2. While walking down the aisle I was shaking so bad my dad had to keep holding my hand and as he smiled kept giving a pep talk! The second was during the reception we did a Brasillian tradition of going around with a tie and letting people buy a piece of it; the money went towards our honeymoon....we got $900!! It was so funny to watch my brother, cousin and her BF hussling our guests!
This post is so fun! I'm still kind of bummed that my bios got wiped when the Knot reset.
Anyway, here's a link to my wedding slideshow, and video.
We got married on the Beach in Santa Monica, California, and held our reception outside. The colors were orange and white (except the bridesmaids wore blue, I didn't have the heart to make them buy orange dresses.) My favorite details were probably the bonfire/s'mores (we had couches out on the sand) and the guest photo booth (see slideshow link) which was awesome. We took our pictures out on the beach, and at the Hotel we were staying at before hand. My dress was my dream dress - this amazing Vera Wang that I scored at a sample sale. The day was perfect, but my favorite moment had to be getting back to our hotel room that night, ordering room service, and gossiping about the day with DH. I got crazy with the details - our video was shot by our guests on Vintage Super 8 Cameras, favors were freshly baked cookies and milk in paper sacks with these stickers my brother in law cut out by hand. I sewed all the programs together myself. I made the table signs. There's more, but I try not to pry open that part of my psyche.
And here's a few pics:
