Are any of you drinking red raspberry leaf tea? Can you drink too much? I have started drinking it today and I am praying it helps my contractions become more timetable and send me into labor.
RRL is a uterine toner and not intended to produce contrax.. but no, I don't think you can drink too much.
It is believed that drinking too much pure hibiscus leaf tea can cause contrax, but I'm not sure about how much is "too much". I drink 3 cups a day.. pregnant or not. It has a ton of health benefits.
I've heard that it doesn't actually help unless you've been drinking it since like 18 weeks. You're supposed to start off drinking a cup a day, 5 days a week at 18 weeks. Then at 27 weeks go to two cups a day 5 days a week. 32 weeks 7 days a week, and at 38 weeks 3 cups a day 7 days a week.

My naturopath has had me drinking one cup a day per trimester (so 1 a day in 1st, 2 a day in second, and so on). It can't induce labor (except in very very high quanities), but I have noticed that since I started to consistently drink 3 a day (just in the last week because I haven't had time til now), I've been having BH - which I wasn't before.
I also mix mine with nettle leaf (both are loose leaf), because nettle is a source of iron, and I haven't had any trouble with anemia yet this pregnancy, which is unusual for me - so I'm a big herbal tea fan!
