Great Wolf Lodge?

Anyone been there?  Is it fun?

We are thinking about taking DD there for her 3rd Birthday.  Do you think she would like it?  She loves water.

Re: Great Wolf Lodge?

  • Lots of fun but more for older kids. We went once and I remember thinking it would be great for kids who were about 6-7.

  • My brother and his wife took their kids (2 and 4) to the one in Ontario last month, and they LOVED it.  They told me it was better than Disneyland, seriously.  The staff was wonderful, the rooms were great, and the waterpark was fantastic.  My SIL told me she could not of think of one bad thing about their whole weekend.  We are actually planning a big family trip there next year, based on their experience.

It is a little pricey, but you can bring in all your own food which helps.  They are a family on a strict budget too, and they thought it was worth every penny.

  • we went when DS was 2.5, DD was 1.  They had alot of fun, although I agree with pp that a 6-8 year old would enjoy it the most, but I think that is b/c of the interactive game they have there.

We were planning on going back for a day soon.

  • we were deciding between there and Kalahari (both in Oh) and we are doing Kalahari this time.  We have gone to other ones similar in MI since dd ws 15 months old and we have had a great time!!
  • I had fun there when I went, DS was conceived there. (The one in WI)
  • We took DS last October, he was 4.  He LOVED it.  He asks to go back everyday.  It was fun.  The do storytime at night and a "nature walk" in the morning.  He loved the water park and the craft room.  I recommend it.

  • We took DS to the one in the Dells when he was 18m (my dad was having his Christmas there).  He had a lot of fun, but it was a little intimidating at first.  It was quite loud, between the rushing of water and all the kids and people.  He really liked floating around in the lazy river, and they have these littler wading pool depth pools that have fountains shooting out into them.  There was 1 or 2 of the bigger slides he could do too on our laps (although I noticed your ticker and you are not allowed on a lot of the slides if PG, at least the bigger ones, just FYI).

We had a great time, and I would love to go back, but its a little intimidating with 2 now.  It was nice having 2 adults to 1 kid and we could take turns going on the bigger rides with other family too :)
