Swollen ankles

Does/did anyone else have really swollen ankles at 22 weeks?  My ankles are at least twice their normal size and my boss thinks I should call my doctor.  I told my mom about it and she didn't seem to be worried about it.  What do you all think?  I don't want to be one of those patients that calls about everything, but I also don't want to overlook something.  I just didn't think your ankles got swollen until much later in the pregnancy.

    No, they can swell up now, it's just water retention which can happen anytime.  Just wait for the pitting edema...it's kind of creepy.

    I wear jobst hose, but I have a family history of varicose veins.

    My legs swell, even when not pregnant, if I sit all day. It has been worse since I got my BFP and was put on a desk job  and now my feet/ankles are starting to swell too. Get some compression socks. They don't keep my legs from swelling but they keep the balloon effect under control.

    It is only bad when you have high BP with it. I had really swollen ankles with I was pregnant with DD plus High BP.

    If your BP is fine then you are just retaining fluid. Put your feet up and they should go down.

    If you have pitting edema, that is NOT OK! Especially at 22 weeks. My first symptom before my BP went up was really swollen ankles. I would call your doctor, just to be safe.

    I'm only at 14 weeks and I'm already swelling. Not to the extent that it's noticeable to anyone but me but it's still annoying. My ankles, legs and fingers are chubby. Last night I went for a walk with my husband and when he went to grab my hand he said, "I like your sausages." Great.

    Thanks everybody!  I think I'm going to wait until this afternoon and see if it gets any better before I call the doctor.  They're a little better than they were last night, but not much.
