Weight Watchers online? How do you like?

they have a 7 day free trial.  I was debating...... I have never done a 'diet'..but I think I need some sort of structure if I am going to meet my goals.

My sister wants us to do a half marathon in May (we did this same one 2 years ago) its a great goal...so I need to get into shape!

Re: Weight Watchers online? How do you like?

  • I think it can work. I did WW (but went to meetings) in 2008. I needed the meetings to be accountable to someone, and thought that the online was not "scary" enough.I did better knowing that I "had a date with a scale". That being said. I am working on the last few pounds of baby weight and am planning on joining again. The tools for tracking food are great, they have a restaurant guide and one of my friends said that the new app for the iPhone is great too. If structure is what you need, I think you'll be happy, you just have to decide how dedicated you can be!

Good luck on the 1/2 marathon!! Exciting : )

  • I am currently doing WW, but go to meetings.  I can't say enough good things about it!  I have lost over 17 pounds in 9 weeks.

I tried doing the online version after I had DS, but like murphysmom, I needed the meetings to be held accountable.  I was also nursing and found that I had too many points to consume, so I wasn't as successful as I think I could have been.

Let me know if you have any questions!

Good luck with your half!  Which one are you running?

I will be running the Avenue of the Vines one in Lodi..its in May.  I am a little scared about it right now... right now I can only do a 3 mile jog/walk.  I need to build up my endurance.  The last time I did it..I could do a straight 3 mile jog and then walk for a mile and jog for a mile..... I am not confident right now on my endurance!  I need to get into shape!

That is great!  And you have plenty of time to train!  I ran my first half 6 months after I had my daughter and am running my second in June.

Have you seen the Hal Higdon novice training schedule?

    https://www.halhigdon.com/halfmarathon/novice.htm

We sort of followed this and all three of us finished!

    Good luck!
