I had almost the same thing. 30cm at 33 weeks and I had a growth u/s at 35 weeks. After the u/s they just kept an eye on my size and weight gain. I am still measuring a little small so now I have a Non Stress Test at each of my appts. I was scared and freaked out too!!! The fundal height measurement isn't an exact measure of how the big/small the baby is or whether it is growing or not.The u/s will give you more insight to what is actually happening and that is still an estimate and can be off !
I had a similar thing happen at my last appointment-I was 27 weeks and measuring 25...I just went in for a growth ultrasound today and everything is fine! It turns out that my baby is just located really low in my pelvis and is in a little ball...so he/she doesn't take up my whole stomach area...causing the fundal height measurement to be a little small. I bet yours is something similar. Try not to worry and take care of yourself!
Thanks! I know that if it was really something to worry about my midwife would have done something sooner, but it is reassuring to hear it from someone else that's been there.
Fundal height measurement can easily be off, it can vary depending on mom's size and how she is carrying. My fundal height is the opposite--I measure up 3 weeks ahead. The OB said that it is because my hips are narrow pushing her all out in front (which is true, I am all belly!)
The US will give a better measurement of baby's size. If your MW is not worried, try to stay calm.

How far off does it have to be for them to schedule a growth u/s? I was measuring a week behind at my last appointment...and I was just wondering about this.
Don't be concerned. I really don't understand what the point of measuring is anyway! With DS I was constantly measuring at least 4 "weeks" behind. I had growth u/s every other week from 30 on and he was a healthy 8 lbs at birth.
Everyone carries differently. I am a petite person. I just carried small. The same thing is happening this time.
My OB said that behind or ahead by one is pretty "normal" and anything over that is when he( the practice in general) would schedule an u/s. But I am sure every OB and practice has their own protocol.
Mine had been stuck at 29cm from 29 weeks-on. Last week (35 week appt) I measured 32cm. I had a growth u/s which showed Nolan measuring in the 52nd percentile which is average and he is growing fine. He is REALLY low in my pelvis, which is why my fundal has been so small. Try to relax.
I am pretty short at 5'2", and I'm super shortwaisted and feel the baby under my ribcage and down in my pelvis at the same time. Plus my DH is my height....I'm guessing we're not having a super long 9 or 10lb. baby! Thanks so much for all the reassurance! I'm taking a deep breath now and not going to worry!
After measuring on target all pregnancy I started measuring behind a few weeks ago. The drs aren't concerned at all, they said once the baby starts dropping this can happen. They haven't mentioned needing an us at all. HTH!
Re: 35 weeks but measuring 32???
