Re: what nonPG/non baby book are you reading?
Mrs. recommended The Secret Life of CeeCee Wilkes.
I Loved it.
A decent Brit Lit - Love, Rosie
Anything Jody Picoult.
I have just started reading "Madhouse", which is the story of a sanitarium in NJ in the early 20th century.
I just finished "My sister's keeper", which is much better than I thought it would be, considering all the hype.
I just finished that seriese. I loved them!! I think they are better than Twighlight.
I'm reading "The Dome" by Stephen King - it started off a bit slow, but now it's gotten really good ! I don't usually read Stephen King, but it's pretty intruiging - about this little town in Maine that gets closed off from the outside world - I'm hooked !
If you like chick lit - I have a whole list of favorites!!!
just page me
I just finished Les Mis and loooooved it, never thought I'd read it, but my friend begged and I ended up loving it!
Now I'm reading the Lost Symbol..
Some of my favorites though:
Kite Runner, The Red Tent, Water for Elephants, Remember Me, Memoirs of a Geisha, Something Borrowed, Something Blue, All the Twilight series, all the Philippa Gregory books, Shopaholic books, Great Gatsby..
Anything Jodi Picoult.
I recently got into reading Krisin Hannah, she is excellent as well.
I'm reading Firefly Lane by her! It's really good.
I loved "My Sister's Keeper." Read it long before the movie came out and really enjoyed it.
We have a very similar taste in books, I see!
I just finished "Water for Elephants" for the TTCAL book club, and loved it! I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a good read that's easy to get into. We're reading "The Red Tent" next, and so far it's really good.
Before that, I read "The Lost Symbol". I'm a sucker for anything Dan Brown writes.
If you're into spiritual type books, I'd recommend "The Shack"...I found the story really interesting and beautiful.
I agree with all the ladies who recommend Jodi Picoult. I am currently reading Keeping Faith by her.?
Emily Giffin is also really good her books include: ??Something Borrowed, Something Blue, Baby Proof, and Love the One You're With?
Happy Reading!?
I've always loved Maeve Binchy books (Circle of Friends, Firefly Summer, Copper Beech, etc). They're all set in either Ireland or England, and it's interesting how she weaves all the characters together.
I feel like a big nerd, but I'm actually reading The Selfish Gene, which is a book about genetics for non-scientists...it's super interesting! And even though it's technically a non-PG book, it's fun to think about how DH's genes and mine will combine in LO....
As for fiction, someone mentioned Water for Elephants, which is fantastic...and my other current fiction favorite is Saplings. (And, even though I typically hate poor writing, the Twilight stories are so riveting that I swear you should try to get past the writing....they are such fun to read!)
I am on book 6 of this series. I really do enjoy them. More adult situations.
Ah, a fellow Fitzgerald fan...Gatsy is my all-time fave!
Might I also suggest The Girls' Guide to Hunting and Fishing by Melissa Bank or Fear of Flying by Erica Jong.
I'm currently reading The Egyptologist by Arthur Phillips. Good so far.
A series I always recommend is the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon. Great books about time travel and Scotland.
I like most of your favorites...didn't care for Water for Elephants. I liked Les Mis as well.
As for me: I am currently reading the third book in The Friday Night Knitting Club series. They are nice warm fuzzies to read. I just finished Scarlet Letter...eh...not my type.
I am reading the "I heart Bloomberg" series by Melody Carlson...it's very light and cute. But as a warning, so not to offend, it does have a Christian spin.
