What MSC said. The only way it could be helpful is if you take your temp everyday strictly for the purpose of getting into the habit. Then its not even charting.
Thanks! Just thought I would check I would really like to get pregnant but DH is still pondering the subject, Any one have an idea how long it takes once you come off BC to get regular, that you can chart?

You can start charting as soon as you come off BCP. If you think you might want to start TTC in the next year, it wouldn't be a bad idea to go ahead and get off the hormonal BC and use a barrier (or other non-hormonal method) to allow your body to regulate.

I would start charting right away when you stop BC. You'll get in the habit and can start determining if you are ovulating. It can take up to a year to become regular after BC, but everyone is different. The first time I went off, it took about 3 cycles, this time it only took one cycle. And I still don't say I am regular.
You can chart as soon as you come off of BCP, however, you may not have regular cycles. Or you might. It can take a woman's body anywhere from 1 month to 1 year to regulate after stopping BCP . I took it for 12 years, and had normal cycles right away. Others have not been as lucky.
You chart because you are TTC. You are BC im assuming because you dont want to get PG. So the answer is pointless
Not necessarily. Some women chart to TTA. It's pointless for her to chart, yes. But not because she's not TTC. Because she's on BC and you generally don't O on BC.

Your cycle is entirely regulated by the BCP when you are on them, so it's not even helpful in terms of becoming more familiar with your cycle... so totally pointless. Your cycle will completely change once you come off of them. I've been off of BCP for about 8 months now and I'm still not regular... neither in terms of consistent cycle lengths or being back to how my cycles were before going on BCP. It wouldn't be a bad idea to get off of them now and just use a different form of BC if you plan on trying any time in the near future. Give it a chance to clear your system, and then you can chart and get familiar with your cycle while DH decides. Once he's on board, even if it's many months from now, you'll be in a good position to TTC.
Re: (I know I should know this) If your on BC can you still chart
