Parents of Invention - The Ultimate Baby Wrap

Does anybody have this wrap? It looks identical to a Moby. I found it online at BRU on sale, normally 40, but 17 right now. Some reviews said the fabric is too thin and it's not supportive enough, but since it was so cheap, I thought I'd give it a try and see if I can handle doing the wrapping on my own before splurging on a Moby. Just wanted to see if anyone has this and what their experience has been! Thanks!

  • I looked at it, but wound up getting a Lovey Dud, which is like a Moby, from an Etsy seller. It was cuter than the Moby (there is a panel of fabric sewn across the front- tons of patterns to choose from), stretchy, but not quite as stretchy as a Moby, which I like, and I think I'll be able to wear her in it longer than a Moby. Cost was a little more, but I actually didn't mind in the end. DH liked mine so much, I ended up buying him one in camoflauge, and he wears DD in it all the time.

  • This is what we used the first several months - I've never worn a Moby but I do think the UBW is a bit stretchier/thinner. But for the price, it's well worth it. We used it until DS was about 17 pounds I think, then got a SSC and never really tried the UBW again.
  • I would give it a try...if it was gray.  I have two of them. One is gray and one is black.  I loved my gray one and hated the black one.  The black one was too thin width wise and stretched too much plus it was too long.  The gray one was perfect length, stretches a little more than moby, but not too much and was a good width.  If I could find one for $17, I would do it!  I, personally, don't think they carry as much weight as a moby does, but it is still a good intro.
  • That's what I have and I absolutely love it! They went out of business so that is why they are marked down so cheap. But I seriously love mine!

  • This is the wrap we have and I love it. DS sleeps like a dream in it, and the lighter frabric keeps both of us from overheating (he is a little inferno).

I say get it! Great price!

  • Thanks for the responses ladies!

Tonya - how much was the LoveyDud if you don't mind me asking?

mrstice - what is a SSC?

Jenn - BRU only had the tan one available online, so that's the one I ordered.

  • SSC= Soft Structured Carrier. Like an Ergo or Beco. We used our Patapum a ton once DS was about 5 months old, for both front and back carries. I also just got an AngelPack Carrier.
  • The Lovey Dud was $45.
