We met with my RE on Wednesday and she said she thinks or IF is due to poor egg quality. Our last IVF cycle was perfect and we still got a BFN. We transfer 2 embryos on a 3 day transfer- 1 8 cell no frag and 1 6 cell with >5% frag. What was your protocol, what meds did you use and is there anything you can do to make your egg quality better? We have one cycle left before we consider donor eggs. Thanks!
Re: Girls with poor egg quality? SAIFW
You could check into: Royal Jelly, DHEA, or Wheatgrass - all are touted to help improve egg quality.
I took Royal Jelly and Wheatgrass for two months prior and up until stims w/IVF#2 and we ended up w/2 frozen embies (whereas w/cycle 1 everything arrested and we transferred nothing). Don't know if it helped, but I don't think it hurt.

Thoughts from an Overwrought Mind

As you can see in my siggy, I was told the only way we could have a baby was if we did DE. I wasn't satisfied with that so I did my own research. I went on 75 mg of DHEA & 7 wheatgrass pills/day and we got 11 eggs. I know that may not see like much but we hadn't gotten anything prior.
I truly believe the wheatgrass & DHEA as well as a change in protocol helped me get eggs.
GL!!
You can try to switch up your protocol- talk to your RE about it. My first IVF we had barely any embryos make it to day 3- with IVF 2 my RE changed my stim protocal and I had 4 embryos make it to day 5- and froze to.
So the meds can help things.
IVF#1 Oct 2009 (CCRM) - BFN
IVF#2 March 2010 - Poor response/cancelled
DE IVF#1 Aug 2010 - BFN
DE IVF#2 Dec 2010 - Transferred 1, 2 frozen - BFP!
TTC#2 FET Jan 2013 - Transferred 1 - BFP!
Thanks for asking this question, I actually have the exact same thing going on! I was going to ask a very similar question. I have an appt on Wed to see the RE regarding my recent failed IVF cycle (#1) for us. I will write these things down and ask if any of them might help us. Good luck to you!
Jakesgirl14, which clinic are you using in the chicago area? We decided to go with one in Oakbrook/Hinsdale area but I was curious which you chose and are you happy with them?
Thanks
