another l&d question...

When will they keep you?

I'm about to go to L&D because I've been having contractions every 4-5 minutes for 3 hours and they're becomming more intense. I had my membranes stripped Tuesday, and I was already past 3cm when he did it. I had a bloody show a few hours before these pains started, and I have a scheduled induction in a few days if I haven't started labor on my own.

When will they keep you vs. sending you back to labor at home? Is it when you're a certain # of cm? Or when your contractions are regular? I can't imagine they'd send me home at 5cm??? TIA.

    As many times as you've been to L&D, I'm sure they'll just assume you're faking again and will send you home until the baby's head is coming out.

    I was kept at 4cm with my first son, but I'm sure the policies differ by doctor/hospital.

    I bet if you took a childbirth class you might be able to answer your own question (no offence to other posters who have not taken a class....) but really, most of us first time moms can't help you out. Or just don't want to...since you don't help us out.

    This is a pretty standard question that you ask YOUR DOCTOR and or practice and or hospital. It's different for everybody.....does that answer help? You have been there how many times? and you still haven't asked the question and you're how far along?

    Have you not read a single book, talked to your Dr, or taken a class? I know you have been to L&D many times, so you should have some knowledge about what to expect.

    So in other words, you are AWing to let everyone know you are going to L&D on NY day. Congrats! Have fun!

    I wasn't around to follow all of your posts, but I've read the expose and it sounds like your bring it all on yourself. All the same, I wish you luck. 

    The unnecessary drama is no one's fault but your own.

    To answer your question: I have no idea, but it sounds like you need to call your OB and see what they say. My OB's SOP is to call when having contractions, water breaks, etc. and she'll guide you from there. So give your OB a call.

    You know what would be REALLY COOL?! If you could pull your head out of your ass! FREAKING GOOGLE IT !!!! GET OFF THE BOARD!! Everyone else is entitled to hate you for whatever reason they choose but heres mine...since you probably aren't in labor let me just fill your obviously empty life with some information. Military wives ( I'm thinking I can sufficiently speak for ALL OF US ) HATE YOU! You have NO idea what it's really like to live even 5 seconds in our shoes. I for one am gearing up for my husbands deployment right now and I won't see him for OVER A YEAR and neither will my kids. Have you ever waited around for days at a time for a phone call so that you can get some damn sleep and breathe again?! Or had to explain to someone who is far too small to understand WHY daddy can't be home to read him a story?! Just because you made an ass of yourself doesn't mean that you have the right to assume our identity you selfish little broad! GET A LIFE!
