Bottle Advice

I'm looking for advice on bottles that are recommended as well as ones to stay away from. DH and I started our registry this week and my head is a blur when looking at bottles. It's probably because I read the reviews on bottles on the BRU website and it seems like everyone complains about leaking bottles. I fully understand that some babies take to different bottles differently, but am open for any suggestions. Thanks!

Re: Bottle Advice

  • Replying to my own post -- I just saw a similar post below about bottle confusion. Sorry!

  • With my oldest I started out with the playtex disposables.  These are a huge PITA if you travel with baby and want to mix up a bottle on the go.

My cousin had the playtex ventair with the curve necks.  Once again, hard to mix a powder formula in them for a full 8oz bottle.

Finally settle on Gerber bottles with my son because they go up to 9oz. and give you extra room for mixing.  Bought my cousin a pack of Evenflo's because I couldn't stand hers (and she ended up staying with the evenflo's).

I'm skipping all that with the next baby and just going straight to the Gerber bottles.

  • I found that Walmart brand worked just as good as Playtex.  I hated Avent and the Gerber stage 1 nipples were too fast for DD for months.
