Do you let DC stay up late for NYE?

I plan to keep them on their regular schedule tonight.   What about you?

  • My kids are 3 and 2, so they will HOPEFULLY be going to bed on time. Mommy is tired. They don't even know it's NYE.

  • Audrey is spending the night at my mom's. I am positive she won't be in bed at her normal time, but I'm not sure she will make it to midnight.

  • I told her if she takes a nap that she can stay up until midnight. We are going to my parents and will be taking her pjs with us just in case.

  • I'll probably let DS stay up next year. I have worked all day today (since 7am and til 7pm) and I have to work again tomorrow at 7am, so he will be in bed as usual tonight as will I! Wink

  • I would totally let Will stay up if I knew he would sleep in.  But he won't.  If he stayed up until midnight, he would probably wake up at 4.  It never fails, the later he goes to bed, the earlier he gets up.

  • DS is 3.5 and really isn't into partying so he will be in the bed like normal.  Now if he was older say 10 or up I may let him.  That was about the age I started "trying" to stay up.

  • I don't see the point of letting them stay up at this age (they are 3). Now if we are at some party or something, I would let them stay up later than usual, but since we are home, it seems silly to keep them up late. They would not even understand what was going on. They have no clue it is NYE or what that even means!
  • Sometimes it's hard to get DD to bed by 11pm if she had a nap during the day. I expect we'll let her stay up until midnight if she wants. She can sleep in with us tomorrow.

ETA: We'll be over at my sister's tonight, so I doubt DD would fall asleep if we tried.

  • We told the girls they could "stay up late" tonight, but we didn't say how late and they can't read the clock.  I'm making DH make brownies with them when he's done with the dishes.  DH won't touch raw eggs (or raw meat, but that's another story) but I've taught DD#1 how to crack eggs and she's so excited.  So I get my chocolate fix and they get to do a "special treat" and "stay up late"...and late probably won't even be much past bedtime if at all since I'm planning showers while the brownies are baking.  Big Smile  They don't know the difference once it's dark out but we don't usually do a ton after dinner other than maybe a little TV, showers, books and bed.  Making brownies is a special treat and makes them think they're staying up late.
  • probably. she is usually up late anyway b/c of my schedule.

  • Nope. Regular bedtimes here, and actually an early bedtime for the 3 1/2 yo who did not nap.

  • They're spending the night with my parents (E&B are). I honestly don't care how late they stay up when they're at other people's houses. However, they generally go to bed around 7 right now, so I doubt they'll be up too late.

Maile's about to go to bed.
