Lol, if I stay up that late my bff bought me some sparkling apple cider for her party. I'd love a sip of bubbly but my DH is very vocal about the fact that he'd rather I not drink anything. Tried convincing him a half glass of wine now and then wouldn't hurt anything, but he's not convinced.

No having sparkling berry cider. I know they say that one glass doesn't hurt and I am not judging you but knowing myself if there was the tiniest thing wrong with the baby I would always have it in my head that it was all because I had that glass of champagne. I know it is silly, but like I said that is just me and why I am not.
I'm having a glass of wine (or probably half a glass) if my mom and brother left me any in the house. I don't drink champagne. My CNM has always said that half-a-glass or a glass a week in the second and third trimester isn't a bad thing. In fact, with DD#1, she encouraged me to have half a glass of red wine and a hot bath when my BP shot up. I've had a few glasses throughout this PG but haven't had any since Thanksgiving or so. I did double check with my CNM that it wouldn't have any interaction with the PTL meds I'm on. She thought it might help lower my BP since the meds are raising it instead of lowering it like they're supposed to so she OKed a small glass, preferably red.
Yes! I am going to sip and savor a glass of champagne...or wine. I can't decide. My doctor told me not to stress and to enjoy a glass. I haven't had even a sip of alcohol this entire pregnancy..so I feel like 1 won't hurt.
When I was pregnant with my DD, I was only like 18 weeks at New Years and I didn't have anything then, but because I'm so much farther along this time, and my docs are cool with it, I'm going to. I've been more lenient this time around overall

No, I am not-- I am not really a drinker anyway, but as some PP said, DH would have a massive coronary if I tried to even consider it. I craved a cherry coke and drank half of one and I think I could see his blood curdle. Lol. He won't be drinking either. Although with the BP issues I am having, perhaps I should sneak some red wine!
Mom drank through pregnancy, pregnant girlfriend who is an MD (anesthesiologist) has had about a glass and a half total through her 18 weeks weeks, lots of food as a buffer, NMW says it's ok....the minute you go into labor many people tell you to have a half a glass of wine to calm your nerves or help you sleep through the initial stages (or just give you tons of drugs once you get to the hospital).....
All reasons why I'm totally OK with anyone who wants a teeny glass of something bubbly or a sip or three of wine.
Fear, concern, trepidation, Dr's orders, worry, love...all reasons why I'm totally OK with anyone who doesn't want to.
If I'm in the mood, I may have a couple of sips of wine come midnight (severe champagne allergy)- and then drive my slightly inebriated friends & family home
Don't like champagne... but I don't see the harm in a small glass. If it weren't such a waste I would have half a glass of wine (DH won't drink it and we are staying in).
Not a champagne drinker but having a romantic dinner with DH and WILL be enjoying a nice glass (a full glass not a half glass!) of red wine. Yum...can't wait!
No, and I'm not going to flame you but you should be educated....
Even the tiniest bit of alcohol can be very bad for your baby, at any stage in pregnancy.
Well then I should have major problems b/c my mom drank 8 oz of beer several times a week the last month she was pg w/me (apparently the dr said it helps w/milk production)! And I think many of our moms drank when pg w/us. Thanks for the education though...

I never understand using this logic. Some people smoke crack while pregnant and their baby ends up fine so does that mean I should bust out a crack pipe?
Edit- yes people I DO realize there is a difference between crack and alcohol lol
not champagne but I will be having a glass of ice wine -
This. It'll be the only alcohol I've had this pregnancy, outside of a sip of DH's beer a couple months ago. And I have sparkling grape juice to toast with.

Yes! If baby doesn't like it, she can exit my uterus.

Re: Just a question please no flames or judgement
I've never been a champagne fan but I did have a 1/2 glass of red wine at Christmas. I dont' think a little would do anyone any harm tonight.
This.
Yes, I'll have one.

I think I love you!
Nope. I don't need it, and the baby doesn't either.
My doctor told me that there is really no "safe" amount of alcohol, so I'd (personally) rather be safe than sorry.

This.Even though docs say it's ok...it's not ok with me.
No flames though.
