What is the rules for drinking and BF??

I  EBF i do pump and i do have about 4 bottles pumped, and tonight me and my DH are going to his aunts for new years and i really didnt want to go i would rather sit at home alone, but my mom talked me into going she says just cuz i have a baby it doesnt mean i need to sit at home and not go out. So i really want to have a drink or two tonight. I plan on bringing the bottles for LO. But i need to know when i can BF again if i have a couple drinks?? Is it a couple of hours or should i pump when i get home and dump it or what?? PLEASE HELP i need advice, i really wanta have a good time tonight and let DH be in charge of LO for a change

    My LC and pedi both said a drink or two is fine.  They both suggested waiting until at least 2 hours after you have had a drink to feed/pump again.  According to the information they shared with me, there is no need to pump & dump as long as you wait the 2 hours.  HTH.

    I've been under the impression that alcohol leaves your milk as it does your body. Actually, since you produce on demand, it's likely that your milk won't have a significant amount of alcohol in it unless you BF or pump while drunk.

    i have read there is no need to pump and dump if it's longer then 2 hours since u drank, assuming u only have a drink or two. but if u want to feel completely safe about it you could supplement or buy those test strips that they sell at babies r us.

    This.  I generally try to have a drink immediately after a feeding.

    I don't know how much the test strips are at BRU, but I thought I'd mention that I've seen them at Target also.

    Ah, I was just about to ask the same question. Good thing I saw your post first.

    I've been wanting a drink so badly. But his sleep patterns are still so unpredictable. I'll probably wait until I start pumping.
