A friends DD is sick, so the party has moved to our house. I'm thinking of spaghetti carbonara, crusty bread and a salad. I work today, and will frantically need to help clean/watch DS when I get home in addition to whipping up goodies, so - sound yummy? Any other suggestions or additions (seems kinda sparse)?

Re: Just found out we're hosting for NYE
Pick up a cheese cake for dessert and you'll be all set.
You're a better person than I. I'd be flipping my lid right now.

Yes!
And pixy - I must confess, up until early afternoon yesterday, plans weren't set and there was a chance we'd be hosting, so it's not a huge surprise.
my fave. now i want italian for dinner...we're going out w/ friends.
mmm. cheesecake
great idea!!
Unfortunately, DH & I hate cheesecake, and it's DH's bday - I think I'm getting a fancy ice cream cake for him (time and supply willing). Sorry to disappoint, gals!

We're hosting too! It's a combination DH birthday party, NYE party.
We're having jello cake, sweet and sour meatballs (going in the crockpot at lunch), bacon wrapped water chestnuts, smoked salmon dip, strawberry lemonade, chips and salsa, veggies and dip, and I think some people are bringing cookies. It's a snacky night. So far, everyone we have invited has confirmed so we are going to have a packed house!
Fortunately for me, it will not be a packed house!
Is today your DH's birthday, too? Either way - happy bday to him!!
Yep! Add in some HCOAS and your kid might even STTN!
We are having a HUGE dinner and I will be serving 8 adults and 4 kids. I'm hoping if the food is good enough they won't notice the dust bunnies.
