Blue nursery for a little girl?

I'm not much of a pink person (although I am very girly!) and I've found some fabrics in blues that I think I'd like to use in the nursery. (I'd have someone on Etsy make the crib skirt/curtains/etc.) MH isn't so sure about a blue nursery for a girl ... what do you think?

Our DD's bedroom is more of a aqua blue, but we didn't want pink either. I actually was pushing more for purple, but we found bedding that was ocean theme so we went with it.

I love, love, LOVE the hearts!!!! It's your baby and your nursery and you can make it any color that you want (if your husband agrees). I don't think it's taboo or strange at all.

Those are very girlie prints! Bleue is just fine for a girls room, IMO. At first I was in the "anything but pink" decor camp but now I'm softening a bit. We'll see what I end up with!

I'm also going to do blue whether it's a boy or girl. For a girl it's going to be a light blue and I think I'm going to accent with red and fushia butterflies (small amounts of these colors)

I've been really wanting to do a blue nursery for our girl and everyone's giving me a hard time about it! I just don't want to go the typical baby-ish pink route.

Thanks girls! That's just the push I need to go ahead with it. And yes, Holly Hobbie!

Actually, my baby quilt was a Holly Hobbie patchwork, so I'm going to use Holly herself in a "reproduction" of that quilt (also thanks to Etsy!). The other fabrics would be in the quilt as well, and then throughout the room (i.e. a flowered/hearts throw pillow, blue gingham bedding, etc). But Holly will only be in the quilt.

Those fabrics are beautiful! I think the blue will look so good, plus its a very soothing color which any baby will benefit from!
