Slow days for kicking?

Hi,

I've been feeling LO kick for a few weeks now. Usually when I lean back in my seat at work and mostly in the evening at home when I have my feet up or am in bed. Since yesterday afternoon, I haven't been feeling as much. I am still feeling a bit here and there but nowhere close to as much as usual. Same thing this morning and afternoon - usually dont feel too much during the day but haven't felt anything today.

This occasional slow down normal?

Re: Slow days for kicking?

  • This is my first...but from what I hear it is normal.

I usually feel her alot at night and I get  afew kicks during the day at work.  I did not feel anything yesterday, which is weird.  I started feeling kicks an hour ago and she hasn't stopped :)

  • I find that Little Girl is more active some days than others. Like you, I feel her most when I'm reclining to one degree or another--but it does vary from day to day.

For example, two nights ago she was, as far as I can tell, discoing. She hasn't been that active since, but I have felt her move periodically. If you're worried, though, check with your doctor.

  • movement isnt going to be consistant until around 28 weeks.. My little man kicks alot most of the time..but there are a few days where he stays pretty content the whole day.

  • Babies won't move consistantly until after 28 wks according to my ob. I asked her the same question because it seems like he has his REALLY active days, and his really LAZY days.

  • Yep, it can really vary based on day. Last week she was kicking up a storm but the past few days she's been more low key. I read that is normal and that kicking/movements gets more routine after approx 28 weeks.
  • I haven't been feeling very much the past few days either. He has his days where sometimes he doesn't stop moving and then I will go a few days with hardly nothing and I will start to get worried and then the next day he is all over the place again. I don't think it is anything to worry about when they have lazy days this early on.

  • I was thinking this same exact thought today.  I haven't felt LO a whole bunch today.  I think it's probably just a down day for her.  Yesterday was full of excitement when we found out LO was a girl.  I think we both need a little bit of a break today :)

  • Totally normal.  From what I have read, the LO will have growth spurt days and will need recovery days from that.  Also, when I was around your week I had the same scare and just happened to have a doctor's appointment the next day.  Well turned out the baby turned upside down and her feet were at my ribs.

  • I just had a dr appointment today and OB told me that up until now movement could have been varied, (it hasn't been, she is VERY active most of the time), but from this point forward if I feel her slow down in movement then I should call right away. I guess if you are worried I would just call.
