When his top teeth came in, BF started hurting

BF has never hurt me.  But all of a sudden, after his 2 top front teeth came in it is sore.  Its like when he's sucking he's rubbing his teeth across my nipple.  Its not every session, but just about. 

I have tried unlatching him and relatching him and sometimes it is better and sometimes the same.  However, he is so distractable that many times that I unlatch him b/c it hurts he just stops and wants to move on to something else. 

Anyone else experience this?  Its been going on 2 weeks or so.  Will my nips get used to it or do I need to work on the latch/relatch more until he gets a better latch?  Something else?  TIA!

    It sounds like a latch issue b/c DS has a mouthful of teeth and except for the few times he's nipped, it doesn't hurt.  No real advice to offer though, sorry!

    Yeah, when DD got her top 2 teeth, it took a while before I got used to it.  I think it's a combination of her gums hurting and us getting used to her BFing with those 2 new teeth.  After a couple of weeks, we didn't have a problem again.  GL!

    When DD got her top teeth it did hurt for a week or two and I wasn't sure if we'd be able to continue. I found some positions worked better than others. I think laying down helped. After the first week or two she adjusted her latch and it has not been an issue. She has a full set of 16 teeth and it's not a problem at all. Good luck!

    Thanks for the encouragement girls.  I will stick with it and hopefully things will get better soon.
