Question about sleep sack and carseat...

Ok two times a week I have to wake up for work get Sara loaded in the car and DH and I meet outside my work and I hand her off to him (because he works 24 hr shifts and gets off at 6 am). I try to limit her activity literally pick her up unswaddle her and stick her in her carseat. We now only swaddle her lower half and havent tried without yet. I hate how unhappy she gts when I unswaddle her but I have to to safely put her in carseat. I have a carters sleep sac  with arm and wonder since its sooo loose around legs could I/should I just pull her legs through the car seat with it on and she will have fabric between her legs, so I keep her warm and comforted during the move. I get nervous about her safety though.

Also for those who used swaddle and now sleep sack how did lo take it? I am thinking about trying the sleep sack in place of swaddle but dont want it to lead to a rough night.

Re: Question about sleep sack and carseat...

  • I don't think I'd feel comfortable buckling the carseat between her legs with the sack on. We usually put her to bed in those same Carters sacks and I change her before going anywhere.  Can you put her down in something with real legs on the nights that you know you will have to put her in her carseat?

  • I would recommend that you put her in a blanket sleeper (with legs) the nights you'll have to put her straight from bed to carseat.  The sleep sacks are too bulky to try to use in the carseat unless you have one that has a slit for the buckle to go through.

Holy cow!! Is that what those slits are for!!! DH and I have nver been able to figure that out. I guess I am jsut going to have to get her to learn to sleep with out the swaddle until then shes gonna jsut be mad for a sec until we get in thecar
