Success after IF

My MIL gave me outfits from the 60's - 70's

That my DH and his brothers wore. She saved them and Dillon is the LO who gets them - I am lucky Tongue Tied

I am washing them now and praying they will rip or shrink in the wash.

Is that bad?

A lot of years and a million tears finally led me to you.
After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

  • Is there metal anywhere on any of the outfits? You could claim that they have lead in them!

    Just sayin.......Confused

  • um, at my shower MIL gave me 3 horrid outfits that DH wore as a child (think pants suit and lederhosen).  they are aweful.  guests at my shower thought it was a joke, they are that bad.  i have them in the back of my closet.  there is no way in HE double hockey sticks, DS will ever wear them.  why in the world would these MILs think we'd want our sons in these clothes.  i can't believe you are even washing them.  hopefully they fall apart or soemthing.  GL!

did i mention that they smell horrible of moth balls and other stench having been stashed away for 30 years.

  • Huh?!  I guarantee those clothes will be too small for Dillion.  Sizing was so different  back then, right?!
  • LOL I would so dress DS up in them if i had gotten them. Imagine the blackmail potential when he is a teenager!
  • I am washing them for the day my MIL undoubtedly comes over to my house and asks to see Dillon in one of them. Thankfully he is much too small to wear them now or she would have kept on insisting I put him in it unwashed the night she gave them to me. ICK!  So I told her I would wash them and will save it for a special occasion.

  • Haha! You know what's funny? I was just thinking today about doing that. Saving some of the kids' nicer clothes to give to them when they have kids! Haha, I guess I'll be the only one who will think they are cute. If I was you, I would put them on for a pic, then hang on to them til they are too small, and give em back... She might just cherish them ;)

  • My MIL has some of DH clothes from he was little, but she won't give them to us. One thing is DH's first bathing suit, which would have fit DS last year, but she said no they are hers.

i was going to suggest the same thing :)  you could put a big fro wig on Dillon and one of those 70's outfits.  it's a kodak moment
