Hi everyone! I'm new here. I just found out I'm pregnant, called my OB/GYN to schedule my first appt and was told she will no longer be practicing obstectrics as of 7/10. I'm so scared and nervous to find a new doctor and would love some referrals. I'd prefer a female so if you know of one please let me know! Thank you so much!

Do you have a preference for hospital? Sometimes that is the way to start looking..
I had a ton of people say they loved Clark & Clemens but I had already chosen my DRs office. I go to Albany Med Women's Wellness Center on Troy-Schen Road in Latham, in the Medical Arts building.
I chose them b/c - deliver at AMC, more than 1 Dr in the practice, they do in-office ultrasounds and bloodwork (instead of having to traipse all over).
At first I actually didn't like them (my original OB retired when I was 20 weeks, so I had to make a quick decision!), but I actually really like all the Drs - each one showed a sincere interest in that I had had complications with my first DD. They took a lot of time to discuss things with me and so on. I'm happy I went with them. There are several male and several female Drs on staff there, so not sure if that is an issue for you either (male Drs).

I go to the same practice as MRobin and have to say I really like it there. I have seen all three of the doctors and would be comfortable having any of them deliver my child. The NP's are very knowledgeable. The one drawback is that there is sometimes a little wait (this bothers DH), but I feel like that happens everywhere. My DH goes to every appt and they never mind that my husband is there.
Do you know where you would like to deliver? I go to Dr. McGinnis and Dr. Kulbida on Wolf Rd. in Colonie. Dr. McGinnis is a woman and she is really nice and a great doctor, she literally saved a good friend of mine's life when she had bad complications while having her daughter. Dr. Kulbida is male, but he is also very nice and one of the head OBGYNs at Bellevue Hospital. That is where they deliver. They also have 3 female nurse practitioners who are great, though Bernice is my favorite! There ultrasound tech Leslie is such a wonderful lady too and was so kind to me when I had a scare at 9 weeks, luckily everything turned out great!
If you like Albany Med and want to deliver there, I know tons of women that have gone to Clark, Clemens and Sayde(spelling?) and they loved them.

They also deliver at St. Peter's and do their own ultrasounds, but do NOT do their own bloodwork (which for me is fine b/c my insurance makes me go to LabCorp for all bloods.)
I forgot they also do St. Peters! Good point!
