batty

How is it going with A and the big girl car seat? We are thinking of doing the switch, even though he still has room to grow in his.

At 19ish lbs and 27 1/2 inches.....he is HEAVY in his infant seat! He is also hating the shower cap winter thing in his face. He can sit up pretty good, and we have the cart/restaurant high chair thing. I guess we just need a coat to toss on when we are getting in/out of the car. He rarely stays asleep in seat when we arrive someplace anyways, so this isn't a big deal.

I think he would travel happier with a little more room!

Re: batty

  • we just got Evan his convertible seat because we were taking a 3 hour car ride to visit the inlaws. He is much more comfortable and happier for longer in the car. He was starting to hate the infant seat Even though he was still below the weight/height limit, he was too heavy for me to carry! And yes, they have much more room, and sit up more so they can see out the windows a little (he is still rear facing)

It does kinda suck running in and out of a store, because you have to bundle them up and not just leave them in the carrier. But it's not too bad, sometimes I leave his coat on him in the seat if we aren't going far, and he still has enough room.

Not sure if they have any left, but Old Navy had the warmest jackets cheap. I got one for Evan for $15 a few weeks ago

  • She's doing very well in it! It is a pain when you have to run in/out of places though-since she can't sit up on her own yet. If he's sitting up though, it will be easier I think. I either bring her stroller or her infant carrier (and hook it to a cart) to put her in. We do put her in a coat to go in/out of places. Its not super bulky so most times we leave it on her and just make sure we pull the straps really tight on her in the carseat. She does well in it-no complaints!
