clicky: when did you ditch the infant carrier?

i know every baby is different - but i'm just trying to get a feel for things.  my mom got lula a britax for christmas and i'm hesitant to use it because it's so nice when lula falls asleep in her infant carrier to just unclick and go.

  • We're still using it and have no plans to switch anytime soon.  T is pretty small, so he still fits just fine both height and weight.

  • I have no idea when I'll stop using it. It's not too cumbersome thus far and DD is a peanut so I don't see us needing to get rid of it anytime before her 1st bday. Honestly, I might stop using it just so I don't have it sitting around my house when we're home!! :)

  • I had to take B out of his at 4.5 months ... he's pretty big.

  • DS plus the carrier were just WAY to heavy to lug around after 6 months.

  • We just switched today and he'll be 11 mos next week.  He still fits into the carrier fine, but we decided to switch because a friend needed to borrow our base.

  • At 6 months we bought her convertible seat and just went ahead and installed it since we had it.  However we still use the infant seat when she's going in someone else's car since she still fits in it.  But we only use it as a carseat and not to carry her around - 18pounds of baby in a carrier is not fun to lug around.

  • DD is still in hers and I don't see an end in sight. I think she will reach the height limit way before weight.

  • We just switched this past week. We were going to try and wait as long as we could, but I threw my back out trying to put her into the base one day and decided it was time to move her then :-D
  • We have the keyfit 30 and DD is pretty small still 15lbs so we're still using it.
  • We still use ours but I pulled my lower back last week carrying them both at the same time to the car. They are 19 lbs. each...so I guess I really need to switch them. I just don't want to because it is soooo much easier and they LOVE to sleep in the car. *sigh* where did my babies go?!
