I get the stance that the baby is present enough - of course he/she is - but if I am pushing a human through my vag (or getting cut open) diamonds can't hurt.
I think they are stupid, and really just something the jewelry industry (et al) made up to get people to spend more money. I told my husband I'd be really pissed off if he bought me anything.
We're hoping to take a trip to New Zealand when the baby is 4ish months old, so that will be both of our substitute push presents.
I've never understood this whole "push present" idea. I really think the baby is my gift and after hours of labor and delivery, it is worth it just to hold my child on my chest and know that she is mine. The best part is that it is a gift that keeps giving. I think this every time my daughter runs to me for comfort or cuddles me before she sleeps. I couldn't ask for more!

He'd like to, but not sure we can afford something and I'd rather have the money for things we actually need. Then again, he could totally surprise me.
i doubt i am but i wouldn't mind it. labor is alot of work and i think it is nice when they give you something to show they appreciate your hard work but that is what it is hard work! now that being said i wouldn't be mad if i didn't b/c i didn't with my first

Flowers and a Coach bag. We didn't buy each other Christmas gifts, and my birthday is close to the due date, so it's really a Christmas/birthday/baby gift.
No, we have a lot more important things to be concerned about (and spend money on) than me a present. I would never even think to get a present for delivering a baby. I have had 3 baby showers and DH has gone above and beyond for me this entire pregnancy. I don't think I really need or want anything else. Diamonds are the farthest thing from my mind honestly.
We kid around about push presents but we aren't serious at all though I told him I would love one of these necklace's but more of a "new mommy" present then a push present. If that makes sense.
I wasn't expecting one at all with my first - I even told him I thought the idea was silly, and that our son was more than enough for my "present." However, he surprised me with a necklace with DS's birthstone on it, which I thought was very sweet. Not sure if he'll repeat that for this baby - it's certainly not necessary, but would be a nice gesture. A more precious gift will be DH taking time off work to help me out once baby gets here!!

I am pretty sure that is a no, but he did say that at his "Daddy Boot Camp" class, it was talked about. My comment was I would love a cheap bottle of lotion and a promise of a massage. I am not interested in some big present, I would prefer he give me the present of time for a relaxing hot bath, to read a book, or etc once in a while after our little one is here. I will be a SAHM, so time for myself once in a while would be the perfect present and it will cost nothing! I am trying to find a "new daddy" present for him, but I am not expecting anything from him.
I hope to get something from my DH but not something like diamond earrings or the gucci I'm coveting. Something like a locket I can put LO's picture in or a necklace that says her name. Something that has meaning - does not have to be expensive. I don't think it's ridiculous and of course my baby will be enough of a present, but a little token of appreciation from DH couldn't hurt.
DH is all about buying me gifts, so of course this is an excuse for him to get me something without me whining about money. (I'm the saver, he's the spender) If he wants to do it that's fine with me. I think it's a way for the men who feel a little guilty that they aren't doing any of the hard labor (no pun intended) to sort of make up for it. Of course, if he could grow some boobs that produce milk i'd much prefer he do the night time feedings as my gift...but he can't, therefore i get jewelry! And I don't feel one bit guilty!
I think it's a silly idea. After all, women have been doing this since the beginning of time, and I think the baby is gift enough.
On the other had, I jokingly asked DH if I was getting a gift, and he said, "Of course." I didn't argue b/c DH is the most thoughtful gift giver and love getting gifts from him, but I think I'll tell him not to get me anything.
Not to get my expectations up, but DH got shiit from his 1st wife about not getting anything after they had their son, even though he DID actually get her something very nice. So he did it once, it was even an issue, the ex is all about advocating for me even when I don't ask, so I'm sure she's reminding him. Plus, he's got a lot more money than he did back then, so I'd be really surprised if I didn't get one. Then again, I may get jipped since it'll be so close to Vday.
ETA: I don't think they're necessary, but if you could afford it, I'm all about any excuse to get presents!!

Yes. I'll be receiving a Tag watch that I've had my eye on for years. It's a gift that I'll use forever and it will always signify the day our LO came into our lives. That means more to me than if I purchased the watch on a whim a few years ago.
DH just bought me a bracelet for Christmas that he had custom-made with our birthstones hanging from it (kind of like a charm bracelet without tacky charms...lol), and he told me that he already has Squirt's "charm" picked out, so I think that'll be my push present.

Last time, DH got me flowers (though neither of us referred to them as a push present), and that was enough for me. I honestly wouldn't want anything extravagant.

https://www.thevintagepearl.com/categories/simple_c4No. I told DH that I think the whole idea is ridiculous. We're both getting a pretty huge gift the way it is.
And I'm not pushing, so it would technically be a "slice present".

I doubt it... it's never been brought up and I'm not even sure if DH knows what a push present is. Anyway, I'd rather spend our money on other stuff!
