Vent: Comment from Step-mom

So, we celebrated Christmas at my Dad and Step-mom's today...As soon as I see SM, she says "Oh my god!!!" I'm like, what? I'm really not that big, but thanks a lot. She claimed that I looked "huge" from the last time I saw her (3 weeks ago). I kindly replied that even if I did, an "OMG" comment was not necessary. I mean seriously? WTF! And can I just say that 1) she is not a small woman, so even at 8 months pregnant she's got a good 50lbs on me and 2) She has never been pregnant and therefore shouldn't comment on the "hugeness" of others.

I just wish people would be more sensitive. I think sometimes they don't know when to shut it.

Vent over...

I know! Why do people have no filter around pregnant ladies? On Christmas Eve, someone told me I had really ballooned since I saw them last. Umm, ok, thanks. I am pretty small for 8.5 months actually. I don't get why people say this stuff, even if it is true!

some people at work say your getting a cute preg belly, I am ok with that. There is one lady who is rather bitter, always fighting with her DH on the phone etc, a while back she said you dont really look pregnant yet, just fat with big/huge boobs. . . . Thank you for that comment. I was still in all my pre preg clothes. Another co worker over heard and ran over after the first left and said you dont look fat you look cut and preg. Thank goodness for nice co workers. I did see the nice one the following day and asked if I looked fat or preg, she about died laughing.

I try to smile and say, yes it is impressive isn't it? Typically people don't mean to be rude. I teach a night class once a week and was discussing something with the class and turned to the side and the was a gasp. Apparently I had grown significantly from the last week.
