Babies: 3 - 6 Months

What brand of bottles do you use?

We had the Dr Brown's for the 4oz size, but cleaning all the parts is a PITA. We went to the Playtex drop ins. They say they are supposed to be 8-10oz size, but I find that just putting 6 ozs in there pretty much fills them up. I'm looking for a recommendation of bottles that you love, and if they work well for a baby with reflux(preventing spitup), that is a definite plus!

  • We used Advent the first few months but DS didnt take them very well, so we started using Nuk bottles and he loves them! I dont know how it is with spitting up, because when LO was spitting up alot we switched to sensitive formula and the fixed the problem for us!

  • I use Playtex Ventaire bottles and love them.  LO barely spits up anymore (she had reflux), but I don't think it's because of the bottles alone.  I think it's mainly because she eats a good amount of solids now.   I love the bottles so much because she collapses the nipples on just about everything else.  But not these.
  • playtex dropins.  DD spits up no matter what so at least she doesn't get the gas as much.

  • Are you using the actual drop in liners or the standard style liners? We are using the standard liners in the bigger bottles for 2 feedings (6 oz each) per day and after putting in 6 oz, there is still plenty of room. With the drop ins for the larger bottles, the liners will stretch out when you put more milk in them.

I use the drop in expandable ones for the 8-10oz bottles and I always have more room left so I don't understand either.  My dd eats 8 ozs. five times a day.

Agreed, we use the Ventaire wide.

We use these too. He rarely gets gassy and he seems to like them so I never tried anything else.

  • Our Soothies are sooo easy to clean as they're really wide.  As for reflux, we just add gas drops to each bottle and he does fine.  They've never leaked on me either.
  • Nuk :)

Tried the Breast Flow and they are awesome but suck for having too many parts

  • born free...but those have extra parts as well:o)
  • I love our Born Free bottles. They do have an extra part- the vent thing that you have to pop in place before you put the nipple on- but that takes about 2 seconds so they're not difficult at all. I definitely recommend them!

  • We have a variety and bottles, Medelas, Advents, Comfi, I just have a mess of bottles and I mix the caps and the bottles . ... Abby never knows what type of bottle she is going to get. ...I think it will help her become very adaptable in life!!  Ha!
