Trying to Get Pregnant

Anyone here & wanna play?

I'm babysitting for my neices tonight and they're already in bed, so I'm enjoying an evening of cable and GP! What's up, my ladies?

  • Hello there! I just got from a fabulous date day with DH and his son...my two favorite boys in the entire world. So it was a good day. Now relaxing at home, checking out some biggidy bump bump. How's it going?

  • Hi MSC! What are you watching?  I just got back from seeing "It's Complicated," which was really cute and funny.

Sounds like a great day... What did you guys do together?

It's super quiet around here... I feel like such a dork for hanging around here by myself.

I'm flipping back and forth between Divine Design and Trauma: Life in the ER. I don't have cable at home, so this is a real treat for me. HGTV and Discovery Health were my two weaknesses when I had cable.

I haven't seen any movies in the theater lately, but DH is dying to see Sherlock Holmes. Glad to hear It's Complicated was good.

  • We went to a late lunch and was going to catch a movie...ya that didn't happen. It was a MADHOUSE there and practically all of the shows we wanted to see were sold out or the very close seats so we decided against.

  • I think that we're going to see Sherlock Holmes later in the week.  I love HGTV, TLC, and Food Network.

That was our first choice today.

  • I'm here!  My SO and his friend are playing Guitar Hero World Tour and I'm heating up a frozen pizza.  So here I am on the couch watching the guitars heros  :-)  How is everyone tonight?

This makes me glad that we didn't attempt to see Sherlock Holmes this weekend. All I did today was go to the Sprint store because my phone died (it was ancient... Like from 2004!) and it was pure chaos out.

It was great, I definitely recommend it.  I went to the movies with DH, my parents, and my sister, but my Mom and I saw It's Complicated, and everyone else saw Avatar.  They said Avatar was really good as well.  It was crazy at the movies though-absolutely packed.

Wow that is ancient!! Ha ha I upgrade mine practically every 2 years...although I'm getting out of the "I want the new phone" phase. Too much useless $$$!

We made a deal when we bought out house that we'd ditch cable to save money. Sometimes I miss it, but for the most part it keeps me from sitting in front of the TV all night.

Methinks I just sit in front of the computer instead!

I've heard Avatar is good but it's not my kind of movie and I can't bring myself to pay money for it.

  • Hi!  DH and his brother are playing Guitar Hero.  So I am catching up on Big Love and nesting.  I feel that we are so "old" at times.  This is usually how we spend Friday and Saturdays! lol

I am very, very frugal. I didn't have text messaging until today and it was only because Sprint cut me a huge deal on a bunch of things.

Seriously, my old phone was so old, it had a pull-out antenna!!

That sounds like me.  The first time I ever got a text message I had no idea what it was.  Someone actually had to come over to cube and be like, "umm...is that your phone?"

I have to admit, I got in on the video game action.  DH got The Price is Right for Wii.  It's a lot of fun!

I always think of that line from Old School, "We've got a pretty nice Saturday planned. We're going to go to Home Depot, maybe Bed Bath and Beyond... I don't know. I don't know if there will be enough time!"

It just strikes me as funny what we do for fun now--shop for housewares, walk to our favorite coffee shop for tea and pommeliers (spelling?)

At one point, DH and I both got rid of our cell phones (2003-2004) because we wanted to save money. He's really good at keeping me frugal. It gives us the $$ to not have any debt (except our house and his student loans) and go on vacations and go out to dinners together, two things we really love.

We're not rich by any stretch of the imagination, but we've learned to only splurge on the things that really matter to us.

It's a good thing he keeps me in line or I'd waste a lot of $$.

That is too funny.  When DH and I first moved in together we would ALWAYS say that because that's how we spend out first few weekends together at BB and HD lol.  I find it calming at times to just do stuff like that.

Yes I love it. We're trying to do better with this.

  • Ugh, I'm going to make an awful parent. I'm not really used to being around babies/children who can't speak. My sister's 1 year old just woke up screaming. She was wet, so I changed her, but then she just kept screaming. Tried to give her a bottle (but she just ate two hours ago) and she pushed it away, so I put her back in bed.

She stopped screaming, but was doing her little angry, talking to herself thing for 10-15 minutes. I felt helpless. She's quiet now, but I hate not being to completely make her happy.

LOL DH's phone is super old and it too, has a pull out antenna!  He is frugal as well (it is good cuz I am not)  His plan is $20 a month (sprint)  they don't offer this plan anymore and for him to upgrade his phone he would be forced to go into a new plan.  He says he will just buy the phone outright and keep his super-old-no-longer-offered plan.

It's always so hard to know how to make other people's kids happy. I've given up on that. DH tells me that I should watch his nephews more often to get practice...ummm, no...I'm sure it's so much different when it's your own.

Ugh. It is very hard. They have their own way of doing things and have had lots of trial and error.

I got all panicky when she got quiet and I'm like. Great. She probably choked on her pacifier and died.

I have no basis for this to be real, but this is what my mind does now. I'm a ball of panic with children sometimes. Anything can go wrong!

Hey there! We just got back from dinner at Longhorn's and now I am relaxing with a glass of wine.

Pour me a glass!! I could use it just to calm the nerves.

That would make me a bad babysitter, though, wouldn't it?

How late are you babysitting? You could always have DH have one waiting for you when you get home. :)

Rumor has it they'll be home at 10:15, but I don't really believe it. They only left at 7:15. I have some white wine chilling at the fridge at home with my name on it.

  • No snow right now. We got a dusting a week or so ago, but it rained yesterday and all disappeared.

Driving in snow isn't that bad. You get the hang of it pretty quickly and just remember to pump your brake when sliding and how to shift into a lower gear. I'm probably better in the snow than in the rain--sometimes it's really hard to see in the rain, especially at night when the lights reflect on the wet pavement.

any worse than what you already are?!? Stick out tongue hee hee just kidding. I say go for it, anything to help calm the nerves!!

  • Hi girls, I'm late to this, but enjoying the conversation :) I'm toggling between The Bump and researching cameras.

MSC, you are going to be a great mom. I think the fact that all of us are on here, thinking so much about our children before they're even conceived, makes us great moms-to-be. I'm telling myself that that's just how you learn to be a parent - try different things when they cry until something works! Even a little crying never hurt anyone. I keep telling myself I'm going to be one of those "let them cry it out" moms, but I'm sure that will all change Stick out tongue

And DH and I say that Old School quote all the time!!!

Do you happen to know if Cedar Point is open the last week of March? We are going up to Ohio during Spring Break and I forgot that they close during the winter.

You know, I have no idea. I thought they opened memorial day weekend, but it might be earlier than that. I only ever go during the summer, so I'm not much help. I heard Cedar Point was sold recently, dunno if that will change anything.
