Tonight we're just having dinner with my parents. We used to go to my grandparents and have Christmas with the family but for some reason the past couple years my mom has decided to ruin everything and doesn't want to have anything to do with my dad's siblings. Great timing since this is my first Christmas home since I've been married and it's our first Christmas without Grandpa.
Tomorrow - we'll have my grandma, godmother, godmother's son and mom over for lunch and do presents and stuff.
NYE - I think people are coming over to our house to party
Honestly I would have preferred this had I known the mess we were walking into.
There are absolute positives to spending the holidays with just us. It's our 3rd year in a row doing so, and compared to the one year 4 years ago that we were in MI, rushing from place to place, trying to balance each side and the traditions they want. It's not that we don't miss them and don't want to be with them, but this way, we get to do what WE want and focus on our own desires. And, we don't have to share the food!
Tonight we had a few friends over to do Christmas for the kids together. Then once they leave we are going to do Addy's Christmas here.
Tomorrow we are doing lunch with my parents and grandmother and aunt. Then going down state to see his parents for dinner. Ugh, too much food. I'm already miserable.
Re: POLL: What are your holiday plans?
Just us two, and lots of food for all 3.

Christmas eve: DH is watching TV, I'm knitting and might watch MASH.
Christmas: we're snowed in, so we're not going anywhere. We're going to attempt to go to the ILs on Sunday.
NYE: I haven't thought that far yet. DH will have to work, but I'm off from today to Jan. 4.
