They're really quite rude and roll their eyes at you when you tell them what's going on. (especially when you tell them your OB/doctor is a midwife, hooboy)
I should probably post this on PgAL, but they don't know me there. So I hope I don't offend anyone with this update:
After last night's scare I woke up this morning to slightly less bleeding but some dull pains on my left side. Scared _shitless it could be tubal, off to the ER I went (am not wanting to see that bill. I see payment plans in my future). I was only there about 4 hours, not bad.
No real diagnosis re: miscarriage, gave me a care sheet on threatened miscarriage, but the ER doc was pretty adamant about how he didn't think this was a m/c.
I do have a subchronic hematoma, I guess a blood clot where implantation happened. There's nothing that can be done and it's small, so I'm doing my best not to google b/c I know I'll freak out. He didn't think it would increase my likelihood of miscarriage, there's no real consensus I guess on that.
Nemnock (the LO) is measuring 7 weeks and 2 days (About on time, within perhaps one day on either side) and a hb of 140. I'm not sure if that's a low hb or not. I wish I remembered to ask. oh, and my betas were 55,000. That seems low for a week ago having 22,000, but I don't know. At least they're not going down.
Doctor also didn't really know where the bleeding was coming from except for the fact that he didn't think it was coming from where Nemnock is. I think he said it was coming from my cervix, and that's ok b/c it wasn't heavy. (and dude, that pelvic exam HURT).
I can't tell you how much I appreciate all of your love, thoughts and prayers. I don't think I'd be a normal, sane person without you all. I wish I could personally thank each one of you with a gift or something.
I love you all so much.
Re: ER's suck. Where's Noah Wylie when you need him?
I've been thinking about you so much!
I just hope everything turns out ok...I bled A LOT (bright red) with DS and was terrified, but it all turned out ok. They never had an explanation for it.
I know Heather R (who was on over the summer) had a subchronic hematoma with her second pregnancy (which was succesful). She had a serious one and had excessive bleeding, but all was well in the end.
Wishing you all the best, you'll be in my thoughts over the holidays!
I'm so sorry you're dealing with all of this.
Missed m/c 11.09 | Missed m/c 3.10 | We miss you & love you so.

Aside from the ER bill, I think that all sounds great. The hb is great, the betas are good, the measurements are perfect, and from what I have read here the hematoma is not something to worry about. They usually resolve on their own. I'll go google for you and bring you back the good news on that. Betas plateau after some point so I think those levels sound fine.
I'm glad you are feeling better. Go relax and make DH wait on you!

This Momma's Journey
~Today I am pregnant and I love my baby~
Ok - you need to go down lay down and stay hydrated. I hope this makes you feel better. Here is the good stuff from Dr. Google:
There is no evidence that this happens because of anything the mother did; doctors don't really know why it occurs.
Doctors use ultrasound to diagnose subchorionic hematoma. If the woman is having vaginal bleeding leading up to the diagnosis, she may also receive a diagnosis of threatened miscarriage. Again, threatened miscarriage sounds scary, but usually the majority of women diagnosed with threatened miscarriage will go on to have viable pregnancies.
Smaller-sized hematomas usually do not affect the pregnancy.
Most clots resolve on their own by 20 weeks of pregnancy. The clot either bleeds itself out or the body absorbs it.
Tampons and sexual intercourse is not generally recommended during bleeding/spotting periods. Allow yourself adequate rest and plenty of fluids. Dehydration can also cause the uterus to contract-irritating your baby and the clot.
In fact, the odds of a positive outcome are usually much higher than the odds of losing the baby -- so there is every reason to think positively.
I think 140 is a good hr, and your betas stop doubling at some point too. That's good news that the baby is measuring right.
Glad you're back and updating us! I was worried! Oh, and I like wine, coffee and fuzzy socks and an PM you my address, for the aforementioned gift. Bwahaha.
Merry Christmas, and try not to stress too much!

awe buddy!! i'm so glad your home!!!! i was so worried about you. if it makes you feel any better i had bleeding/spotting w/ DS. i was about 5wks and they had me come and have an exam/blood work. they said my bleeding was coming from the outside/cervix area so they said that was a good thing.
and 140 is great! anywhere between 120-160 is usally the norm.
i will keep praying for you and LO.
i won't be here much more today since we're heading do DH's family.
grow little bean, grow!!!!
Yay... I am so glad that you are alright and that the LO is doing well! I have been thinking about you and send you positive thoughts since last night. Please PLEASE keep us posted and don't disappear!

All in all things sound pretty good ... 140bpm is def not too low, I've seen several girls have those hematomas on PgAL and go on to have it disappear and be a normal healthy pregnancy, and your betas quit doubling when they reach a certain level (I forget exactly but it's way below the 22,000 mark) so 55,000 sounds good. Rest up, don't stress and enjoy your Christmas! Remember .. today your are pregnant and you love your baby!!!

Thank you EVERYONE, I know I sound like a broken record, but there's no way I'd survive any of this without all my TTCAL ladies.
and poor DH, he's all "hc--what? fetal heartbeat? they have HEARTBEATS!?" lol.

subchronic hematomas do NOT increase the risk of m/c. I did a lot of research on them when I was bleeding....I was praying that I had one as well, to explain the bleeding.
SO SO SO happy to hear your news! MERRY CHRISTMAS, to say the least. hahaha.
Yay! A nice update. I had a SCH with Lilly - a huge one. I was warned that I might bleed but that she wasn't in any danger. This was exactly the case - I delivered her 10 days post EDD and she was 7lbs9oz. and perfect in every way except the insanity, wit, and sass that showed later.

Popping in from PgAL to check on you. Sorry for my ticker/pics.
I'm sorry you are going through all this, but your results sound very hopeful to me and I really hope you and LO are doing just fine. Scares like this are just not fair. T&P are with you!
The heartrate is great. Don't stress. As for the subchorionic hematoma---don't worry about it either. My SIL had this same thing and is now due in 3 wks. It apparently usually dissolves on it's own.
Glad ur doing good. Glad u saw a heartbeat. Hope u find relief in the visit to the ER.
Merry Christmas!
I'm so glad you're doing okay, Shell, and I'm sure Nemnock is hanging tight. Please, please, PLEASE take it easy, and try to enjoy your Christmas. I'll be keeping you in the forefront of my T&P!
(((((((((((((((((((((((( great big, speculum sleigh & reindeer hugs)))))))))))))))))))))))
Shell, I just signed on to read everyone's updates...only to find your issues. I'm so happy that you were able to hear Jr's HB and all seems well. Hang in there, rest and try to enjoy the holiday season.
Hugs to you and your LO!
